In Hainan, there is a wonderful place. It is nestled among the green mountains and has climate conditions that are very different from most plain areas in Hainan Island. This is Shihan Village, which can be compared with the vast cold in the sky.

We started from Qiongzhong County, drove on National Highway 224 for about half an hour, and then passed through a rural road with a steep slope before arriving at this small mountain village 800 meters above sea level.

Shihan, "Shi" means "field", and "Han" means "cold". This is probably the coldest village in Hainan Province, and after the continuous high temperatures in Hainan these past few days, we felt the rare coolness here.

The night is extremely cold, the crowing of frogs is accompanied by the chirping of cicadas, and even the chirping of unknown birds, creating a perfect white noise environment. In such an environment, it is especially easy to fall asleep and the quality of sleep is also particularly high.

In the early morning, we officially began to examine this small village. Because it was the off-season, there were basically no tourists here, which also made us feel more of the cold and quiet side.

The ancient Double Ninth Festival tree at the entrance of the village has so many branches and leaves that it takes 5-6 adults to hold hands to surround it. It is said to be 800 years old.

Under the tree is the village name monument of Shihan Village. It is made of a whole piece of rock and is very impressive.

Brother Chen saw a little sister and saw that the little sister was walking without shoes, so he ran over to the little sister and asked the little sister, "Little sister, don't you know how to prick your feet?"

Such totem symbols can be seen everywhere in the village. In terms of the evolution of writing, they even precede Oracle. Can you see what these are?

The B&Bs here are very unique. You can book rooms at the contact station at the entrance of the village. The prices are also completely uniform, which is relatively moderate.

The Container Station, Stilt House B&B, and Benge Nei Inn are all very unique.

The tentacles of Internet technology are indeed everywhere. Although it is a small mountain village, there is an unmanned smart B&B here.

A very strange place name, "tens of thousands", I don't know what it means.

A hen and her chicks forage leisurely in the grass. This scene is probably rare for children in the city to see.

The villagers' houses are very unique, with a Miao embroidery pattern on the pink and white walls, like the exquisite piping on Miao clothing.

There is a circular square in the village. There are 9 totem poles standing around the square. The pillars are carved with various totems and life scenes of ancient ancestors.

According to research, the Li ethnic group developed from a branch of the ancient "Baiyue" ethnic group. As early as four to five thousand years ago, the ancestors of the Li ethnic group thrived on Hainan Island and became the earliest residents of the island.

There are both Li and Miao people in Shihan Village. The two ethnic groups live in harmony here and jointly create this paradise.

Almost every household in the villagers here sells special products from the mountains, mainly wild honey, Ganoderma lucidum, blood vine, dendrobium, and Jinbhui. The prices are not too expensive. If you like it very much or happen to have a need, don't miss it.

We entered a house in the village. Brother Chen saw a little brother and a little sister, and immediately asked to play with them, making new friends.

The eldest sister is making a backpack out of bamboo strips, which is also one of the village's specialties. It embodies the villagers' ingenuity and is not only beautiful but also practical.

Shihan Village is not big, and it only takes about 2 hours to visit it all, but the beauty of returning to nature evokes the nostalgia deep in our hearts.
