Passing by Lianjiang City, a subsidiary of Zhanjiang City, we stopped at the Hedi Silver Lake Scenic Area. This reservoir is the headwaters of the famous Leizhou Youth Canal.

This reservoir was built to solve the drought in Leizhou Peninsula. At its peak, the number of migrant workers reached more than 50,000. It only took more than a year to complete the construction of the reservoir area. In less than 5 years, all the water conservancy infrastructure in the irrigation area was completed, providing a great opportunity for the Leizhou Peninsula. Agricultural development has made outstanding contributions.

Many leaders have visited and left many precious inscriptions and poems. Among them, Deng Xiaoping, chairman of the Central Military Commission of the Communist Party of China, inscribed the project name for "Leizhou Youth Canal".

After leaving Hedi Yinhu, we ate Luchuan pig, which is famous for its tender meat and delicious flavor in Luchuan County, a subsidiary of Yulin City.

The white-cut pig's trotters cooked with Lucchuan pig's trotters are the most famous local delicacy. They are also known as little bear's paws. They are absolutely delicious with smooth skin and smooth meat, and are not greasy.

The road from Luchuan County to Yulin City was being rebuilt and was very difficult to walk. It took nearly two hours to walk the short 40 kilometers.

Finally arrived in Yulin City. This city is famous for its "Dog Meat Festival", but few people know that Yulin also has a Yuntian Palace that is as majestic as the Potala Palace.

The so-called Yuntian Palace is the abbreviation of Yulin Yuntian Folk Culture World. The Yuntian Palace was built in 1998 and covers an area of ​​4.6 hectares. The square area is 17,000 square meters. The main building has 21 floors and is 108 meters high.

This size is very rare in the world. It is difficult to imagine that such a magnificent building will be built in Yulin, a city with an underdeveloped economy. However, the tickets are too expensive, 150 yuan per person, and many attractions in Yuntian Palace are not open, so the price/performance ratio is relatively low. In the end, we did not go in to visit, which is actually a bit regretful.

We stayed in Yulin for three days, but due to the continuous rainy weather, we did not carefully visit the scenic spots in Yulin City. In fact, judging from the quantity and quality of Yulin's scenic spots, it is indeed a bit lackluster.

On the third day in Yulin, the rain finally cleared up. Taking advantage of the good weather, we went to the "Colorful Pastoral", a scenic spot that Yulin has vigorously built in the past two years. It is the largest scenic spot we have ever seen.

"Colorful Pastoral" is only 3 kilometers away from Yulin City. It is a huge scenic spot covering an area of ​​52 square kilometers. The scenic spot contains 10 administrative villages (communities), involving a population of 32,600. The villagers here are so happy, they really live in the scenery.

At present, the "Colorful Pastoral" has built and opened more than ten scenic spots such as Bougainvillea Manor, Lotus Source, Yuanzhiyuan, China Modern Agricultural Technology Exhibition Hall, China Southern Medicine Garden, Longping High-tech Hybrid Rice Planting Demonstration Base; There are natural and beautiful landscapes such as Great Man Mountain, Tianmen Pass, and Immortal Footprints, as well as profound cultural and historical landscapes such as Baoxiang Temple, Ma Yuan Camp, and the ancient Southern Maritime Silk Road. Perhaps because it is still spring planting season, there are few tourists here, perhaps midsummer is more suitable for visiting.

We chose to park at the visitor center of Colorful Pastoral Garden, adjacent to Bougainvillea Manor. The ticket price is 25 yuan, which is not too expensive, but the area is not large.

Although Yulin is famous, there are not many attractions here, and there is no high-speed rail connection. National and provincial roads are also being renovated. The transportation infrastructure is indeed too poor, so it is not suitable for a special self-driving trip. It is recommended that you come back in two years.
