Introduction to the International Court of Justice: The International Court of Justice (ICJ) of the United Nations was established in April 1946. It is the main judicial institution of the United Nations and is also known as the International Court of Justice in The Hague. The International Court of Justice is a civil court that only hears disputes between sovereign states. It has no criminal jurisdiction and cannot judge individuals.
