It was already dark when we came out after eating. I originally planned to visit a few churches and go to Suomenlinna during the day, but ended up falling asleep all at once... I had no choice but to walk around here and see the night view.
Helsinki Cathedral , this landmark building is still worth visiting. It's bigger than expected, pure white and simple Nordic style, very nice.
It just so happened that it was night, so we could take pictures without anyone around.
The stairs were covered with snow and turned into a slope, and a path was carved out where there were handrails.
It was super slippery, so I had to hold on to the handrail carefully before climbing up.
Below is Parliament Square.
I found that the door was on the left, so I walked in and took a look.
Walk towards the Open Air Market and take a picture of the tram.
The sea surface was actually frozen!
I remembered that when I went to Hokkaido the year before last, I made a special trip to see the drift ice. I didn’t expect that every pier here was full of drift ice.
This building seems to be the city hall.
Wow, how cold it is, the sea is frozen like this.
Come over to Uspensky Orthodox Church , it looks like an eerie castle from a distance at night!
The Russian-style church is indeed much more fancy, but unfortunately there is no lighting and it is almost completely dark. There are only a few street lights, which makes the photo a bit ugly...
Suddenly I found that I could see the white church again on the left, and I could take a photo with the Helsinki Cathedral from a distance.
After walking back, I finally got a clear shot of the tram. Hey, why did the one with the white head pop out on the right take a picture of you again?
I discovered that the smoking thing below turned out to be an open-air hot spring sauna, and I saw many people walking on the snow in swimsuits. I really want to take a bubble bath, it’s the best to take a dip in the snow and ice!
I happened to catch a ferry coming back, and my original plan was to take it to Suomenlinna. After crossing the frozen sea, it turned into an icebreaker.
On the way to the Central Railway Station, I suddenly saw Chinese, Chinese Spring Festival Temple Fair
We walked back to Helsinki Central Station . The train station-White Church-Red Church-Open-air Free Market is not far away and can be done by walking.
Take the train back to the hotel and fly to Ivalo tomorrow.
