There are many glass houses in Finland now, and this one is the most famous one. I believe many people have seen this picture, it is Kakslauttanen. [Picture from official website]

I flew directly from Helsinki to Ivalo. I booked my room directly on the official website, so I sent an email to book the hotel's shuttle bus in advance. It cost 29 euros per person. As soon as I came out, I saw someone holding this sign. The staff will deliver it directly to the hotel.

Finally arrived!

I booked too late, five days in advance, and only booked the older East Village building. The building next to the car is the front desk.

This is the road outside, and it’s completely covered in snow. It’s a bit scary if you’re driving by yourself...

The small house in the middle of the picture below is the station. You can see it by looking to the left at the intersection when you exit the front desk. You will wait here for the bus to Rovaniemi the next day.

It was too early to check in, so I made reservations for some activities at the front desk. I originally wanted to reserve a snow tank, but I didn't get one, so I booked a snowmobile in the afternoon and a husky sled to chase the aurora in the evening.

Then go to the restaurant next door to wait and have lunch first.

It’s not lunch time yet, so I went out and took pictures everywhere. How could the snow accumulate so thickly?

Lunch only starts at 12 o'clock. The restaurant is also a wooden house and has a very atmospheric atmosphere.

Buffet for 22 euros per person.

There is very little food... I have no choice but to eat here.

Curry chicken and rice, the curry tastes pretty good.

There is also salmon bisque.

Then I went snowmobiling, I’ll leave that for the next article, skip to the end of snowmobiling and come back.

Back at the resort, it’s time to check in. It is difficult to drag suitcases in the snow, there are many sleds outside the front desk, you can get one to pull the luggage.

On the map of East Village, you can look at the map and find it by yourself without anyone to guide you.

Finally we found our cabin, it totally felt like a cabin in a fairy tale!

The warm-colored cabin is very large and has a sauna room that can accommodate four people. It is very warm and comfortable.

It gets dark very early in winter, so hurry up and visit the resort before it gets dark.

This is the path to enter our cabin. The snow was so deep that I accidentally missed it and could hardly see the path...

There is no special scene, I just like the vast whiteness everywhere.

The snow is almost reaching the bridge.

Finally saw the glass house!

The legendary glass house is like a gem set in the snow, so beautiful!

If there is an aurora, it would be dreamy to lie on the bed and watch it. [Picture from official website]

But it is really small, and our cabin is more comfortable.

Therefore, in order to make up for the shortcomings of the glass house being too small, there is now a Kelo house type that combines a wooden house with a glass house. If there are many people, it is very worthwhile to live together. [Picture from official website]

If you can’t live there, just take pictures everywhere.

When I saw the glass house, I walked back.

The cabins are about to be buried in the snow.

The big clumps of snow on the trees look delicious...

It’s so fun to step on the snow on the side!

I got lost as I walked back and almost couldn't find my cabin. There was thick snow everywhere and I felt dizzy.

I really like looking at the snow outside the window in a warm room.

When I checked in, I made a reservation in advance for dinner time and tonight's menu.

Today happens to be New Year's Eve, and it's our New Year's Eve dinner. Because there were a lot of Chinese people, the owner of the resort came in with a fairy stick and wished us a Happy New Year hahahaha.

Bread before meal.

The mushroom soup is delicious.

Embarrassing, the steak was accidentally the same as yesterday’s meal in Helsinki.

Looking at the cross section, you can tell that this steak is juicier than the ones I had in Helsinki, but the meat is not as fragrant and the seasoning is not as good, which is a pity.

Dessert lava dark chocolate.

Ah, this is delicious! The dark chocolate is very fragrant, not too sweet, and the lava is just hot enough to flow.

After dinner, I went back to put on some clothes and then set off for the evening husky sledding to chase the aurora. I still left it until the next article.

When I saw the dark cloudy weather during the day, I knew that I had not seen the aurora. T T I was obviously in the aurora area, but the clouds were 100% invisible ┭┮﹏┭┮

However, I didn't give up. After I went back, I put it on the windowsill and took a few long exposures. When I saw the greenish clouds, I comforted myself that the aurora must be above the clouds. T T

Another great advantage of the cabin is that there is a sauna in the room. You can also take a sauna after your evening activities.

If you are brave enough, you can go to a Finnish sauna, get warmed up, and then go out and roll in the snow.

The rating of this resort on Booking is only 7.8, which is not very good. If you live in a glass house and there is no aurora, you will be very disappointed. At this time, staying in a cabin feels very comfortable, and the cabin is cheaper. We This is equivalent to about RMB 3,800, which is quite worth living.
