On the third day of the new year, I boarded the high-speed train bound for Shenyang and met up with my companions. I took a sleeper berth from Shenyang and traveled one night to Changbai Mountain early the next morning. I believe that this is the first and last time for me to have such a high quality of sleep. I spent almost the whole night falling asleep and waking up. When I woke up at six o'clock, I found that most of the tourists were missing from the entire carriage. If I had to rely on my legs to complete the entire distance of Old Rick Lake, I would not be able to achieve it. We chose to take a snowmobile to the deepest part of the entire park and then walked out. All I can say is that snowmobiling is so exciting.
It takes 10 minutes to drive in and three hours to get out.
The deepest snow here is up to three meters deep. Of course I didn't dare to try, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get out. The snow on the side of the trail reached above my knees, and it was really fun to walk on. I have seen such thick snow when I went to Harbin many years ago. After that, I traveled more in the south for business trips. I have never seen such clean and thick snow before. I was still very excited when I saw it.
The snow in Old Lake Lake is like a white elf hanging on the tall beauty pine. It is innocently blue. The sun shines golden light through the pine trees and shines on the snow. There is nothing new at the entrance of the scenic spot. It seems that all the scenic spots here are taken over by beauty pine and white birch. I thought I would come here, so just follow the crowd and walk in.
The first thing that amazed me was a non-freezing river, which should be hot spring water. There was mist rising from the water, and it hung on the branches to form hoarfrost, which is called rime. Looking from the embankment, the pines and willows are covered with frost and covered with snow, and there are rows of snow waves, which is very spectacular.
At the second place, we walked to the river. The scenery was the same, so we took a photo and left.
We originally wanted to watch the sunrise, but on the way we found that the sun was about to emerge. If we were greedy for taking pictures, we might miss the sunrise. When we reached the best photo spot of rime, the scenery in front of us really shocked me.
In front of the empty snow field, the lake flows calmly, with mist floating on the water. The scattered long plants on the lake are also covered with a thick layer of snow. The sun in the distance rises little by little from the mountains and forests, and the Tiffany blue sky , the tall birch trees by the lake are all covered with rime.
Nothing can be described. At this time, I can only let myself go and feel the wonders brought by nature.
I keep taking photos and send them to my relatives far away from home. I have developed a habit from traveling all year round. Whenever I go to a place with beautiful scenery, I immediately send it to my family group. "My son travels thousands of miles and my mother is worried." This is my first time on a business trip. I will tell you what I wear without exaggeration: two pairs of cotton trousers and two jeans for the lower body, two thermal jackets for the upper body, a sweater, two down jackets, a rented coat, cotton hat, scarf, A pair of snow boots that reach the knees, cotton kneepads from the feet to the thighs, two pairs of socks and more than 20 pieces of thermal patches.
I dare say that there are no tourists in the entire Changbai Mountain Scenic Area who wear more clothes than we do. Why? There are a total of five scenic spots to visit in Changbai Mountain, starting from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. For seven and a half hours we only saw Tianchi and hot springs. Because we can’t walk at all, the kind that push us can’t stand up.
Every winter to April 30 of the following year, Changbai Mountain has a free admission season. Just buy the bus ticket and the cross-country ticket to Tianchi.

Although Changbai Mountain is not as cold as others say, it feels like something is missing if you don’t soak in the hot springs.

The hot springs in Dadongbei are amazing. No matter indoor or outdoor, the hot springs are not lower than 40 degrees. The highest temperature is 44 degrees, which almost boiled me.
