Passing by the SriVeeramakaliamman Temple, the gatehouse is carved with Hindu gods, sacred objects, cows, warriors, etc. The walls around the temple are painted red and white, creating a very festive atmosphere. On the way back to the hotel, we passed by the Guanyin Temple. There were vendors selling incense and wreaths at the door enthusiastically. They lined up and followed the crowd to go in and pay their respects. They received New Year's oranges and everyone was blessed with good luck in the New Year.

There was an incident when buying subway tickets. Because the banknotes we exchanged were of larger denominations and we didn’t have enough change, the friend in line behind us handed us the banknotes directly. In the evening, we went to China Town, also known as Chinatown. We felt the lively atmosphere as soon as we stepped out of the subway entrance. There were many small shops lined up in rows, which was very lively.

We walked back to the hotel while admiring the night view of Singapore along the street. There were not many people on the street.
