Preface

I finally took advantage of the tail end of 2020 to edit my travel notes, and filled in the holes one by one. I coded the text intermittently and saved it in a corner of my computer, almost forgetting it.

Memories will fade and you need to look back from time to time.

Looking forward to the new family tour.

Part 1

I went to a Spring Festival wearing short sleeves

Singapore

Set off

I went to a Chinese New Year wearing short-sleeves, which was an obsession in my heart. With the consent of the elders, I invited the whole family to accompany me to realize my wish. Take your pick of the east and west, Singapore, here we come.

Thank you and be grateful! People, if you think boldly, many wishes can come true.

Part 2

First introduction to Singapore

When we set off, the COVID-19 epidemic had not yet spread, and entry and exit were normal. In a mood of uneasiness and surprise, we embarked on the journey to Singapore. Fortunately, I left and came back relatively early, otherwise I would have canceled this trip.

I waited for a long time at the bridge after getting off the plane. It is said that when entering Singapore, the temperature of the entire flight was taken collectively, thinking that they would be tested one by one. In fact, they all waited at the bridge and then were released.

Haidilao Binhai Store

I made an appointment for pick-up in advance. The driver was very trendy. The car was decorated with colorful light bars and he introduced the main attractions of Singapore on the road. Our whole family is a big fan of Haidilao. After settling in, we went to the Haidilao Binhai store, which is within walking distance and feels familiar when ordering.

Part 3

The dazzling Presidential Palace, the young museum, the slightly disappointing Gardens by the Bay and the Sands Shopping Center for everyone

The Presidential Palace of Singapore was built in 1867 and named "Istana", which means palace in Malay. It is open to the public regularly every year. You can watch various birds, insects, plants and artificial landscapes, and you can also learn about the structure of the Presidential Palace. history. If you encounter the Presidential Palace open day, you must go to pay your respects. The Presidential Palace has a large lawn, but because the weather was very hot and sunny, we drank all the water we brought and went to a charity stall to buy water. A bottle of water was 10 RMB. The elders expressed their distress. In a capitalist society, prices are very high. high. I visited the concierge hall and saw the gifts sent to Singapore from various countries. They were very exquisite and each had its own characteristics. Whenever you encounter items marked with Chinese characters, you should always take a closer look.

The Presidential Palace has set up many festive stalls and children's play areas. I met children who also came to Singapore from China to play. Like us, they are also three generations. The most coincidental thing was that I met them at the entrance of Shangri-La Hotel two days later. The world is such a small place.

Everywhere we go, we go to the local museum, which tells the history of the city.

You can walk to the museum from the Presidential Palace. The Singapore Museum was established in 1887 and is the largest and oldest museum in Singapore. It embodies the young and innovative spirit of the country, the "old and new world". There is no "heavy feeling" like visiting museums in China, but a feeling of vitality, youth and vigor. There are no unearthed cultural relics and long history that are customary in domestic museums. It is like watching the growth history of a young boy.

We were lucky enough to have a free day at the museum, so you can put a museum free day sticker on your body and then you can enter and visit. I like the theme exhibition of "Light and Shadow". You can quietly watch the growth process of a tree and use your fingers to make different shapes.

At noon, we had a simple meal at Food For Thought in the museum. There were quite a lot of people here. It was full and we had to wait for a table. There was an elegant silver-haired grandmother reading a book next to her. We made a little noise with our children, which seemed to ruin the quiet atmosphere.

Gardens by the Bay is frequently listed in various travel notes. We visited the "Flower Dome", "Cloud Forest" and "Super Tree". In response to the Spring Festival, the Flower Dome displays the "Twelve Zodiac" theme. Because Fuzhou has very good greening, seeing flowers and plants makes us feel that there is nothing special about it. In addition, there are so many tourists and they are "crowded one after another", and the sense of experience has dropped sharply. There is a giant waterfall in the cloud forest sloping down from a huge 35-meter-high mountain. As the terrain gets higher, different plants are planted, but there are too many people and the queues last for several hours.

The light show of the Super Tree is okay, maybe the expectations are too high and there is no sense of surprise. I think there are many large fountains in China with good light and music.

Walked through the corridor to the Sands Shopping Center. The appearance of the Sands hotel ship is really domineering, and I had the famous Huang Yaxi Bak Kut Teh.

Part 4

The wealth fountain that brings good luck, the fun duck boat, the exotic Little India and the familiar Chinatown

The highlight of today is the duck boat. After exchanging tickets, we first visited the Fountain of Fortune. The Fountain of Fortune is located in Suntec City. There are five buildings around it with numbers 1 to 5 marked in English, representing the five fingers of the human hand. The position is also arranged according to the shape of the palm, which means holding wealth in the palm of your hand. It is said that walking around the fountain three times will bring wealth.

The duck boat was a military vehicle during World War II. It combined the dual functions of a car and a boat. It was a special vehicle that could travel on land like a car and float on the water like a boat. The entire duck boat trip takes about an hour. You can visit many landmark buildings in Singapore at once, and learn about Singapore's general history and culture from the tour guide's explanation. It is especially suitable for groups of young and old. Especially the moment when the duck boat enters the water from land is very exciting.

In the afternoon, the elderly and children rested in the hotel, and my teammates and I took the subway to Little India. Little India is a gathering place for the Indian ethnic group in Singapore. It is like a microcosm of India. The buildings, food, and shops are all very exotic.

We walked along Serangoon Road, which is one of the main roads in Little India. On one side are small shops and vendors selling various items, and on the other side are mostly gold shops, with all kinds of golden jewelry displayed row after row. The styles are rich and colorful.

Passing by the SriVeeramakaliamman Temple, the gatehouse is carved with Hindu gods, sacred objects, cows, warriors, etc. The walls around the temple are painted red and white, creating a very festive atmosphere. On the way back to the hotel, we passed by the Guanyin Temple. There were vendors selling incense and wreaths at the door enthusiastically. They lined up and followed the crowd to go in and pay their respects. They received New Year's oranges and everyone was blessed with good luck in the New Year.

There was an incident when buying subway tickets. Because the banknotes we exchanged were of larger denominations and we didn’t have enough change, the friend in line behind us handed us the banknotes directly. We wanted to give him the change, but he waved his hand and didn’t want it. Haha, I felt it. The friendliness of the locals.

In the evening, we went to China Town, also known as Chinatown. We felt the lively atmosphere as soon as we stepped out of the subway entrance. There were many small shops lined up in rows, which was very lively.

The Buddha Tooth Relic Longhua Temple at night is so beautiful, it feels like the flourishing period of the Tang Dynasty. It’s very shocking. I must come and visit it next time.

I went to Maxwell Food Court for dinner. The stalls are very different. The Hainanese Chicken Rice window is crowded every day, but some stalls are empty. It is not suitable for the elderly and young people to wait in long queues. We bought some from other stalls. Snacks, I feel the taste is average.

We walked back to the hotel while admiring the night view of Singapore along the street. There were not many people on the street. We passed by the Singapore Parliament Building, which looked majestic under the lights and faced the Singapore Financial Center across the river. Chat about what we have experienced these days and feel the beauty of slow life.

Part 5

Sea Aquarium - Siloso Beach (the southernmost point of Asia) - Resorts World Casino - Ion Orchard - Orchard Road Walk

Today’s focus is Sentosa Island. Sentosa Island can be reached by cable car, walking, subway, or taxi. We choose the easiest way to go there by taxi. Grab is very convenient in Singapore. It is similar to Didi in China. You can download the registration number on your mobile phone. , choose Resorts World Casino to get off.

The first stop is the S.E.A Aquarium, one of the largest aquariums in the world, with more than 1,000 species and more than 100,000 marine animals. There are also nearly 80 endangered species such as manta rays and orange angelfish. The Deep Sea Mystery Ecological Area is the core of the aquarium. It has an aquarium viewing window that broke the Guinness record and is one of the largest viewing windows in the world.

Through the suspension bridge, you can reach the southernmost island of the Asian continent. On Palawan Island opposite Palawan Beach, two observation towers stand on the side. Standing on the log observation deck, you can see the boundless South China Sea.

I ate the signature crabs at Seafood Republic. Forgive me for crying, but I have forgotten what I ordered. Just follow everyone else's order. I originally wanted to go to Jumbo Seafood, but it’s not available on the island. Expand your horizons at the famous casino and enjoy a few games.

Part 6

Hotel Relaxation-Singapore Day Zoo

Due to short notice, some things had to be done in the morning, so the family rested in the hotel and went swimming. After resting, we headed to the Singapore Day Zoo, which is one of the top ten zoos in the world. The park uses natural barriers instead of fences to create a natural living environment for various animals. The animals live a free life in a comfortable environment without artificial barriers and coexist peacefully with tourists. It rained suddenly, so I went to the zoo in a hurry.

On the way back, I directly took a taxi on the roadside. Later, I found that the driver took a detour and had a bad attitude. I asked the hotel concierge staff to negotiate. I felt that the staff was trying to protect the other party. It was just the end of the complaint. After returning home, I have been paying attention to the progress of the complaint. Let it go. It is recommended that you still use grab, which is more secure.

Part 7

Jewel Changi

Changi Airport is very big and worth visiting. We set aside time for it but still didn’t finish it. We bought some CK shoes and a certain brand of shirt, but we always felt that we didn’t have enough time just to go shopping. Pack your bags big and small, and check out the places to board your flight back.

Keep loving and go to the mountains and seas

Like the wind that has traveled thousands of miles without asking about the date of return

Like the sun rising and setting no matter day or night

In the final days of 2020, I look back at the beginning of 2020 with a lot of emotion. Thank you to my family for being willing to accompany me and realize my little wish. This trip was full of rewards. I have always felt that I am very happy and have a strong backing to support me in doing what I want to do.

Thank you for the beauty of life❤

Live better

work hard

*In the new year, I hope that I will hand in my homework on time and stop procrastinating.

Ah haha, the task is difficult.
