They did not choose to capture the Luding Bridge, but used sampans and bamboo rafts to cross the river. Eventually, the entire army was destroyed and became the sad place of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom .

When the Red Army captured the Luding Bridge, the Kuomintang troops removed all the wooden planks from the Luding Bridge deck. 22 Red Army soldiers climbed on the iron cables to lay the wooden planks while launching an attack on the other side. After a fierce battle, they successfully captured the Luding Bridge, allowing the Red Army to safely and quickly They crossed the Dadu River and rushed to the north, getting rid of their pursuers and facing the Japanese army. This is the turning point for the Red Army.

Today, low-carbon round steel has replaced the rough iron, making the Luding Bridge stronger. If you observe carefully enough, you will find that there is a small mark on each iron ring, which is the name of the blacksmith. If any iron chain is broken, the original craftsman can be traced, which can be regarded as protecting the old bridge. convoy.

Hidden away from the world, he once enjoyed the prosperity of the Tea-Horse Exchange, and also witnessed the revolutionary romance of bloodshed and rebirth. Moxi Ancient Town, as the first ancient town where the Red Army entered Ganzi Tibetan area, has left too many memories.

Check out this exotic Catholic church, built in 1918 by French missionaries. The architectural style is a combination of Chinese and Western styles. It has the arches of Western-style churches and incorporates the local courtyards and cornices.

In 1935, the famous Moxi Conference was held here. At the meeting, the plan to continue marching north via Luding Bridge was determined, and this was the beginning of the magnificent and classic battle to capture Luding Bridge.

Today, Moxi Church is still a place where Catholic believers hold religious activities. Sitting in the empty hall, you can feel the sunlight coming through the square windows and recall the small but extremely important "little events" in history. It has a unique flavor.

Next to the Moxi Church, there is a Priest Building. This was the place where Chairman Mao camped. It was here that the good news from Luding Bridge was delivered to the Chairman.

There is a little story when Chairman Mao stayed at the Priest House. It was rare for Chairman Mao to see books during his Long March. He found a book here at the Catholic church that night. He was so excited that he read it until late at night. At 4 o'clock in the morning on May 30, he left the church and headed for Luding Bridge, borrowing a few books when he left.

As an important stop in the Red Army's Long March, there is also a Long March Memorial Hall in Moxi Ancient Town, which can be booked in advance for visits and explanations.
