Leaving Lucerne, we came to the small town of Grindelwald, which is said to be a small town. In fact, it consists of a long street and a bunch of surrounding villages. They are known as the most beautiful villages in the world.
Grindelwald is a must-stop on your way to Jungfraujoch. We stayed in Grindelwald for three nights, during which time we visited Jungfraujoch and the nearby towns of Interlaken, the ancient city of Thun, and the small town of Spiez.
Grindelwald is said to be ten times the size of Gassho Village. The few days we went there coincided with the Swiss National Day, and the village was filled with Swiss flags.
In Grindelwald, we shuttled through the villages under the snow-capped mountains every day. Our eyes were filled with greenery, and the rivers flowing in the villages were accompanied by the sound of wind. It was indescribably comfortable.
Be sure to bring a jacket when traveling. After all, Grindelwald is on a high hillside, and the wind is still a bit cold.
Picture: Grindelwald is beautiful no matter how you take it.
Doing yoga at the foot of the snow-capped mountains is very beautiful. Yoga lovers will definitely love it.
The place where yoga is done is actually a school playground, and the children have their own fun.
The dog sees the younger brother VS the dog sees the second sister.
The women's group is responsible for posing beautifully, while the men's group is responsible for getting clothes and taking photos.
A clean and tidy village.
Coming back from Jungfraujoch, we took a walk in the village.
Restaurant Barry’s
I like this restaurant very much. The pile of flaming stones at the door is very unique. The restaurant has two floors and is designed like a forest cabin. There are Swiss national instruments playing traditional music on site, which is very unique.
There is an extensive children's menu, so there was plenty of choice for our family with many children. The restaurant offers local Swiss dishes. The steak is very tender and well-fried. It is paired with several special sauces to enhance the taste. The kids had chicken nuggets with French fries, which was a generous portion.
Address: Dorfstrasse 133 | Postfach 92, Grindelwald 3818, Switzerland
Most of the sauces are jams, and only one is a bit close to Chinese hot sauce.
We also ate here after referring to tripadvisor reviews.
Bebbis Restaurant
The restaurant is located on the main road in Grindelwald, and you can see the beautiful snow-capped mountains from outside and by the window. The restaurant has a large space, and a lot of wood is used in the decoration, giving it a warm and bright feel. But the environment and food quality are not as good as Barry's.
The meal was a bit like Mexican food, we ordered cheese pot, and the kids ordered burgers and fish and chips.
Address: Dorfstr. 130, Grindelwald 3818, Switzerland
CM Cafe Bar Restaurant
The biggest feature of the restaurant is that you can enjoy the beautiful scenery while dining. The food is relatively ordinary, and there is nothing to eat if you arrive early or late. But the playful layout and furnishings of the restaurant, as well as the incomparable view, are all worth it.
After breakfast here, we left the small town of Grindelwald and headed to the capital, Bern.
Address: Almisgaessli 1, Grindelwald 3818, Switzerland
I also went to this restaurant the night before, because I got there late and didn't have much food to order.
These restaurants are all located in the center of Grindelwald. Let's put it this way, the main road is a long street, and almost all restaurants are located on this long street.
Life in Grindelwald is laid back. Wash the cups and dishes, tidy the room, throw away the trash, check out, and after breakfast go to Bern, the administrative center of Switzerland.
