Chengdu is a city that never sleeps, no worse than Sanlitun in Beijing. Food is available all over the world, but Chengdu is the only one that is better.Brother Lei and I stayed for two days and set off after a little repair. With the support of a few hot pot meals, I was full of energy and moved forward on Yan 318. As for what fun things to do in Chengdu, I will add an article later when I have time.
Let’s start with this photo. Look at the ground and don’t look at me. This LOGO, whether it is a hard-core off-road vehicle or a BYD F0 entering Tibet, will have a car sticker like this. I believe it is their totem, just like the devout Buddhists who worship Tibet. .Highway 318 is a strategic transportation highway, starting from People's Square in Huangpu District, Shanghai, and ending at the China-Nepal Friendship Bridge in Nyalam County, Shigatse City, with a total distance of 5,476 kilometers. The administrative regions at or above the prefecture level passing through are mainly Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou-Xuancheng-Wuhu-Chizhou-Anqing-Huanggang-Wuhan-Jingzhou-Yichang-Enshi-Chongqing-Dazhou-Guang'an-Nanchong-Suining-Ziyang-Chengdu-Ya'an-Ganzi -Chamdo-Ningchi-Lhasa-Shigatse. Highways connecting most provinces and cities in the country. I won’t go into details about how beautiful it is. The reputation of 318 almost surpasses its beauty. August to October every year is the best time.Along the way along Yan 318, I was intoxicated by the beautiful scenery. It wasn’t until I felt my stomach growling that I realized it was past noon. I didn't encounter any better restaurants along this stretch. After crossing a bridge, I saw a melting river on a snow-capped mountain. I can’t remember where it was. We pulled over and prepared to fire.Stones with scriptures carved on them can be seen everywhere on the mountain. We set up the table and chairs and took out our noodles. The most important thing here is instant noodles. In the eyes of people who come to Tibet, instant noodles are basically the best food in Tibet. You may not be used to eating Tibetan food, and even if you can eat it, you may not be able to accept the hygienic conditions of small restaurants. You may not be used to Sichuan food, but even if you eat it, you won’t be able to resist getting angry every day.
More importantly, you may have forgotten to bring a pressure cooker before entering Tibet. At this time, you will know that it is still OK to cook noodles in boiling water of up to 70 degrees. The luncheon meat brought by Brother Lei is really delicious, it’s an internal product. I can't buy it.

When you come out of Litang and continue along Route 318, you will see a scenic spot sign, "Litang County Genie Mountain 70 kilometers away." After getting off the road, there are basically no good roads, and there are some intermittent road constructions.
The journey is extremely beautiful, but it is also dangerous, with numerous landslides and excavators on the roadside standing by at any time. With endless forest vegetation and green grassland as far as the eye can see, you cannot understand the joy of being here if you only rely on your imagination. The sky and mountains are so pure.
The journey is difficult and dangerous, isn’t this what wild children like?
When we passed a few villages, we could already see the true appearance of the sacred mountain.
It took about four or five hours to travel from Litang, passed a small village (sorry, I can't remember its name), and finally arrived at the destination, Eye of Genie. There will be a small sign on the roadside pointing up the mountain. You must ask for directions. The sign is very small. I can only tell you that there are three white pagodas opposite the sign. On the left hand side, you must stop when you see it. On the way we walked more than ten kilometers, asked the villagers and then turned back. Many villagers do not understand Chinese, so remember to ask young people as much as possible!
This is the Eye of Genie. This photo and the next one were taken by Brother Mao, the big brother from Beijing we met on the sacred mountain. Of course, he is now also a member of our Wild Kids Self-Driving Club. I won’t be able to take pictures if they’re not as good as Brother Mao.
None of us brought a drone. The best shooting angle here is aerial photography. But Brother Mao’s use of Genie Mountain as the background of the Eye of Genie is also very impressive. In order to take photos of the Golden Mountain in the sun, they camped here and fell asleep to the howling of wolves one night. (At the end of the article, I met a foxwolf on the road)
The road up the mountain at the Eye of Genie has steep elbow bends and some cross-axles, so you don't have to worry about two-wheel drive vehicles. On the way down the mountain, I encountered a Passat parked there and couldn't get on. After some consultation with me, I suggested they park here and walk up. I guess it would be a problem for them to turn around and go down the mountain.
Genie is located in Litang, Sichuan. It is translated as "householder" in Tibetan. The Genie area covers an area of 500 square kilometers, but has a population of only a few thousand people. Genie Holy Mountain, its Tibetan name is Sama Ripa, is one of the 24 sacred mountains in Tibetan Buddhism. There are many snow peaks in the Genie area, and the most respected and beautiful one is the main peak of Genie. The main peak of Genie reaches an altitude of 6204 meters. Whenever it is sunny, you can see the main peak towering into the clouds from two to three hundred kilometers away.At the foot of Genie Mountain, I felt a kind of lonely beauty
After coming down from Genie's Eye, you should walk for more than ten kilometers along the county road. There is a small sign in the direction of Lenggu Temple, indicating the way up the mountain. Once you see this sign, it's basically no problem. It's just the same road. There are dense forests and gurgling rivers along the way to Lenggu Temple.
I met two monks on the way and asked about the way out just to be sure.
Lenggu Temple is located in Zhangna Township, Litang County, Garze Prefecture, Sichuan Province, 84 kilometers away from the county seat. It is located in the Xuefeng Canyon, at the foot of Genie Mountain. Lenggu Temple is much smaller than many temples in Kham. Outside the temple, there are wooden houses where monks live, surrounded by piles of chopped firewood for heating in winter. The temple hall is relatively dark, with no electric lights and not many oil lamps. There are portraits of Panchen Lama and others hanging on the pillars. As the birthplace of Baijiao, eminent monks and great sages come here to worship and learn scriptures in order to seek perfection in merit and virtue. It was opened to the public in 1986 with the approval of the People's Government of Kangding County, Ganzi Prefecture. What everyone is seeing now is the Xinlenggu Temple. The accommodation conditions of the old Lenggu Temple are poor, and the road conditions are extremely bad. It is not possible to drive, and it cannot satisfy the increasing number of monks and mountain pilgrims, so everyone decided to move out and build a new one. The larger Lenggu Temple. If you want to visit the old temple, there are local Tibetan brothers who can take you there on motorcycles. The temple in the distance is Lenggu Temple, at the foot of Genie Mountain. The scenery at the end of the valley is beyond words.
There are three magic weapons in Lenggu Temple. No other temple's magic weapons can let you play with them. Hey, Lenggu Temple is fine. This is interesting. To see a magic weapon, one needs to pay ten yuan, which is really not much. It was hard for the monks to live in poor conditions, so we didn't donate money and spend as we should. So before I left, I bought the monk's ox bone beads and a dzi bead for more than 1,000 yuan. Just consider it a donation. It is not convenient for the master to take a group photo, so I will not provide the photo. I hope everyone will not talk about the authenticity of Buddha beads and Dzi beads, because this is not a simple buying and selling relationship. The old monk took me into the house, and we sat on the floor. He took out the first magic weapon, which was wrapped in a prayer flag. One of the magic weapons is the female deer antlers. Why is this a magic weapon? Because no female deer has antlers.
The second magic weapon is the conch turning into ancient times. This is a conch that rotates in the opposite direction.
The three pillars of Dharma protect Nie's heart. This is a strange stone with the heart on top and the liver on the side.
On the back is the intestines. Look at this ax of heaven and earth, the masterpiece of God, so lifelike.
On the left is the monk master, and on the right are the two Tibetan brothers. Tibetan brothers strongly invited me to visit the old temple, but I didn’t go due to time constraints.
Currently, Genie Sacred Mountain, Genie Eye, and Lenggu Temple are all free to visit. At the Eye of Genie, everyone must protect the environment.
There is also a small episode in this journey.
During the drive, we encountered road construction. I went up and asked if it would open to traffic in four hours. It was a bolt from the blue. I originally planned to cross the ancient tea horse road in Genie in the afternoon to the next destination. The road itself was very difficult and dangerous to cross. It took another night. Wear, as someone with seven or eight years of experience in outdoor cross-country, I was a little uneasy. At this time, a Tibetan guy asked me if I could take a ride. I thought about it and agreed to him. It’s not that I didn’t dare to pull, but I sat back a lot. Things must be sorted before people can sit there. It’s because I agreed that the story behind it happened. The road construction section belongs to the little brother and his hometown. The little brother’s name is Ciya, and he knows almost everyone in the surrounding villages. A brother riding a motorcycle came over and chatted with him for a few words. Ciya said he would follow the motorcycle in front of him. The car could bypass the road construction section. My little heart was so excited that I couldn't calm down. I went down the big V ditch and went straight to the grassland on the top of the mountain, passing through the yak herds. It took ten minutes to bypass the road construction section. On the way, I heard Brother Lei shouting "Niu B" from the stage.Along the way, I had a good conversation with Ci and . He spoke Chinese well. He was in his early 20s and still in school. The family mainly lives by digging Cordyceps sinensis. I said you must learn Chinese hard. We will be brothers from now on. If I have the opportunity to come to Beijing to play, I will go to your place again. Arrange for me to eat yak meat when the time comes.
I was escorted home once, and he invited me to sit at his home, drink tea, and arrange a dinner for me ,I declined. In this way, I was lucky enough to move forward for 4 hours. This village just received electricity 7 years ago. In the past, all people lit butter lamps, and there were almost no roads that could be used by cars. Our country built roads and provided electricity for them, so that the children here can read free books.Later, I thought about it, and it was indeed good for the taxes we paid to be used here.
The bathroom at Tsugeshi's house is very, very environmentally friendly, and the airis reallyvery good.
After coming out of Cishijia, it was getting late, and the real challenge came later. I forgot to climb a few passes, and I also forgot that I had a headache on the first day when I stayed in Litang at an altitude of 3,700 meters. In the evening we saw a foxwolf standing in the middle of the road, staring at me with a pair of eyes like two red lights, and ran towards the mountain after a few seconds.
I would like to remind everyone that due to the obvious achievements in environmental protection, there are many wolves and bears in places like Tibet, Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia. If you can sleep in a car, don’t sleep in a tent.
