After breakfast at around 8 o'clock, we took the passenger bus from Lijiang to Ninglang. We traveled all the way over mountains and ridges with winding golden sands, and arrived at the first stop of Lugu Lake, Sanjia Village, at around 1 o'clock in the afternoon. We will stay at Qingfeng Villa.

After lunch and a good rest, we walked along the lakeside plank road for about one or two kilometers to (large) Luoshui Village.

After breakfast today, we set off from our residence and walked along the lake in the direction of Luoshui Village.
Pass through Luoshui Village and continue walking towards Lover's Beach and Lige Village.
Near noon, I found that the road conditions around the lake were quite different from what I had imagined. It was difficult to hike more than 70 kilometers around the lake, so I returned to Luoshui Village in time.
After lunch, we visited the Mosuo Customs Museum.
Luoshui Village is the largest Mosuo village, with more than 100 households and relatively developed facilities. It is a gathering place for tourists. In the Mosuo Folk Museum, follow the tour guide. It was discovered that unlike the Naxi and other southern ethnic minorities, the Mosuo people are the Mosuo version of the "Utopia" story.
There are now more than 50,000 Mosuo people. A family with the grandmother as the core can have as few as a dozen people or as many as dozens of people. Due to the geographical environment and long-term closed status, a unique matrilineal clan, walking marriage and other marriage status were formed, which have been maintained to this day. All people believe in religion, including Dabaism and Tibetan Buddhism. From the perspective of living customs such as grandmother houses, fire ponds, and sacrifices, it is a combination of simplified Lamaism and primitive religions. Prayer prayers at the White Pagoda are an example.
The stone monkey is considered by the Mosuo people to be their ancestor.
The nomadic peoples of the Huangshui River Basin in Qinghai migrated from 200 AD to 1644 AD to escape the chaos of war during the Qin and Han dynasties. It took 400 years for the Tang Dynasty, which lasted for 600 years, to finally settle in Ninglang around Lugu Lake.
The Mosuo people are considered a branch of the Naxi people. There is currently no separate ethnic group. There is still the custom of walking marriage.

Charter a car around the lake
Lugu Lake belongs to Ninglang Yi Autonomous County. Ninglang is one of the counties under the jurisdiction of Lijiang. It is commonly known as Xiaoliangshan and is 129 kilometers away from Lijiang City.
Lugu Lake is a plateau freshwater lake with an altitude of about 2,700 meters, which is higher than Lijiang's 2,400 meters.
Lugu Lake has a radius of 59.2 square kilometers, five islands and three peninsulas. The Daluo River where we are located is more than 60 meters deep, and the deepest point of the lake is 93 meters in Lige Village. A circle around the lake is sixseventy kilometers.
After breakfast in the morning, we still walked two kilometers along the lake to Luoshui Village, where we met a Mosuo man soliciting us. At almost ten o'clock, we officially started our tour around the lake from Lover's Beach in Yunnan.
The lake is getting deeper and deeper, and the colors are getting darker.

Passing by Xiaoluoshui Village
Xiaoluoshui , straddling the border of Sichuan and Yunnan provinces, is the hometown of Yang Erche Namu. Xiaoluoshui in Liangshan, Sichuan looks a little wealthier. The Jewel Fairy is also a Mosuo. She went back to her hometown to celebrate the Spring Festival. She is not in the museum today. It is said that she went up the mountain to burn incense.
Once entering Sichuan, the terrain is obviously much flatter and more open.
After passing Xiaoluoshui Village at noon, and entering Liangshan Yanyuan from Lijiang, Yunnan, the terrain became flat, open, and sparkling. In Lover's Beach in Sichuan, Lugu Lake actually has the momentum of the sea.

There are many people living here in Sichuan, and the scenery is relatively messy. We walked around the Wedding Walking Bridge on Caohai Sea and then continued forward.
Not long after, returned to the border of Yunnan. Return to your residence before evening .
It takes almost five hours to go around the lake. Overall, the scenery on the Yunnan side is more beautiful.

Sunrise Impression~Qingfeng Villa
On our last day of departure, the innkeeper took us to the Daluoshui bus station and had a chat with us. He was a young man in his early thirties, a designer. He came from the city a few years ago and rented a villager's homestead for twenty years. He designed and built this villa himself. From the design and furnishings, he was quite have Aesthetic taste.
Now the whole family lives here. The breakfast we ate every day was cooked by his mother, a beautiful and virtuous woman who added a bit of warmth to the small courtyard.
Three mornings at Lugu Lake
After breakfast today, we went along the lakeside wetland to Sanjiacun Pier not far away, where we took a pig trough boat owned by local villagers and took a leisurely tour of the lake.
Liwubi Island is Mosuo language, which means the singing of birds and the fragrance of flowers. The island is covered with trees such as acacia, azalea, camellia, etc. It was the first island inhabited by the Mosuo people.
The Turtle Peninsula, which is only 20 to 30 meters away from Liwubi Island, was placed under Sichuan. In the middle is the dividing line between the two provinces and the spring of Lugu Lake. The bottom of the lake is a stone forest about 100 meters wide, which is quite clean.
The deep blue lake water is as pure and smooth as silk, making people want to touch it.
White-billed mallards and seagulls come together from Siberia from October to November every year and leave after March 3 of the following year.
Liwubi IslandNow there is only one lamasery built in the 16th century, which is solemn and friendly to the people.
The boating villagers were very cheerful and learned that the reconstruction project of the Li(Jiang)Ning(藗) secondary road from Lijiang to Lugu Lake was only opened at the end of October last year. During the construction period, it will take seven or eight hours to come from Lijiang. Everything is the best arrangement, just enjoy the moment.
Lugu Lake is a special place, holy, beautiful and peaceful, unlike in the human world. It has lived in our hearts and words cannot express it.
This time during the Spring Festival, I stayed near Lining Highway. Sanjia Village near Daluo River, Relatively quiet. Next time I come, I plan to go deeper and stay in Lige Village and Xiaoluoshui to experience it. See you later!
