[Travel Notes] Guangzhou Zengcheng Baishui Village Half-day Tour Leek Edition

During the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, I went mountain climbing with my family to Baishui Village in Zengcheng. Before I went, I signed up for a one-day tour on Meituan, which included tickets and round-trip fare. It cost 216 RMB for two people. It seems quite conscientious, right? But I didn’t expect that there is something fishy in it, so I won’t mention it here.

In the morning, I took Metro Line 3 from Panyu Square and met at Exit C of Tiyu West at 9 o'clock. The tour guide was a fat young man. There were 51 people in the bus and all of them wore masks. It seemed that even the epidemic could not stop everyone from going out.

After setting off at around 9 o'clock, the tour guide began to give a brief explanation, which was nothing more than the first ladder in Tiannan, and the lychees in Zengcheng. When we were almost at the destination, the tour guide said that there was only one restaurant in the scenic area and it was very expensive, so we would find a place for everyone first so that everyone could have a full meal before going.

In this way, everyone was taken to a farmhouse. My family and I were really reluctant because we had brought self-heating rice before departure and did not want to consume it at the farmhouse.

Good guy, it’s almost 12 o’clock at noon, the outdoor temperature is 35°, and there is no place to hide in the shade on the side of the road. I can only sit at the farmhouse. I really don’t want to order it. My family says it’s not appropriate to order it. They also said, Sometimes outsiders have to be submissive, and I even got into trouble with him about this.

I had no choice but to order cold melon and dragon bone soup. Why did I only order soup? Because his dishes are too expensive, a portion of ribs is 188 yuan. The soup we ordered is 48 yuan, which is the level of fast food restaurants outside. We also charged 5 yuan per person for tea, so we can't complain.

After eating, it was past 12 o'clock, and then we got in the car and drove about 6 kilometers to the outside of the scenic spot. The tour guide gave us tickets, and we went in by ourselves to start our mountain climbing and water play trip.

After entering, you can see the gold-lettered signboard of "Tiannan's First Staircase". Before I came, I thought it was the sign on the top of the mountain. But when I arrived, I realized that this sign was just the entrance...

The best travel route is to go up from the waterside plank road instead of climbing the stone ladder directly as soon as you arrive, because that is too boring, and there are really only stone ladders.

Every distance, there are the best waterfall viewing platforms. Why is Baishui Village called Baishui Village? Probably because the waterfall that goes straight down is really white and the water quality is very clean.

About level 2,000, the plank road is over, and we start walking up stone ladders, stopping and going. There are still a lot of people at the beginning, but when we get to about level 3,299, there are very few people because we are tired...

Keep going up. I thought I could reach the top at the beginning this time, but I didn’t expect to miss it. It’s good to be able to reach 4099 Xiangu Pond. Because of time and physical strength, it’s easy to go up the mountain, but I still have to go down. The sightseeing buses are also stopped now. Well, going up and down the mountain all depends on your legs.

Every time you reach a level, there will be prompts on the stone stairs, which is very considerate.

When I got to 4099, it was almost three o'clock in the afternoon. The first thing that catches the eye is the words Baishuizhai Reservoir.

This reservoir reminds me of the Jinwangsi Reservoir in my hometown, a small county on the 18th line, which is free...

Really, you need a trekking pole to climb the mountain. It will save a little effort. When you were walking along the road, you saw someone breaking off the branches next to them and using them as walking sticks. It didn’t feel good~

Because the tour group's car left home at 4:30 in the afternoon (another pitfall), the two of us stayed for a while and hurriedly prepared to go down the mountain.

It is difficult to go up the mountain, and it is also difficult to go down the mountain. Don't run too fast when going down the mountain, or you will hurt your knees.

The distant scenery from the mountain is indeed beautiful.

Overall, I had a lot of fun climbing this mountain. The only drawback was that the travel agency cheated me. I spent 58 yuan on a cup of soup that didn’t taste very good. And the time is very tight, 12:40-16:30, not only half a day.

If I go there next time, I will definitely take a car there by myself. The time is controllable. It is impossible to drive by yourself, because after climbing the mountain, you will be exhausted and no one wants to drive.

Of course, it should be noted that you should do your best. After my family and I returned home, my calf hurt for two or three days. It should be due to lack of exercise in daily life, which led to the accumulation of lactic acid. I guess it is harmful.

And, if possible, avoid eating at nearby farmhouses.
