Do you know where to see maple leaves in Shanghai? The maple leaves on Maple Leaf Island under Jinshan Corridor in Shanghai are starting to turn red. It’s a great place to appreciate maple leaves~
Maple Leaf Island is located in Xinjianjiang, Shantang Village, Langxia Town, Jinshan. It is a maple leaf planting base covering an area of 300 acres, growing North American red maple, North American liquidambar and red heather.
Every late autumn comes when thousands of mountains are red, and the maple trees in the garden turn from green to red. "Little maple has been drinking from the sky all night, but the solitary pine tree hides her drunken face."
Looking from a distance, you can see a maple forest with layers of dye. Walking into the maple forest, stepping on the thick fallen maple leaves, looking up, the red, yellow, and green maple leaves are set against the blue sky and white clouds. It is so beautiful!
The two little ones were walking and running in the maple forest, picking up maple leaves, admiring the maple leaves, and experiencing the romance of autumn.
We went there in mid-November, which felt a little early. Some places with more sunlight had red maple leaves, while others were still green.
However, the layers of fallen leaves and red leaves all over the ground give the green trees a unique charm!
If you want to see more red leaves, the end of November and the beginning of December is probably the best time!

*Travel guide:
Shanghai Jinshan Langxia Maple Leaf Island is a very magical attraction. Before we went there, we entered the destination on the navigation: Langxia Maple Leaf Island, but we couldn’t find it. So, we drove to Langxia Ecological Park. I got off the car and asked the security guard how to go about Maple Leaf Island. Go, the security guard said, the road is being built over there and cars can't pass, so you can take a shuttle bus.
So, we parked the car in the parking lot of the Ecological Park, where the shuttle bus starts and ends, and got on the shuttle bus.
The shuttle bus runs every 30 minutes, departs at half past the hour, and the one-way duration is less than 10 minutes. It is free.
Half of the Langhua Road (Xinfeng Road-Xiangyang River) leading to Langxia Maple Island is under construction, and the road construction is expected to be completed before the Spring Festival. There are staff on duty at the intersection. Look at the roadblock sign and it is only accessible to vehicles from this village. But it feels like you can drive in. If you want to try driving in, it is recommended to search for Pengjiaqiao. Maple Leaf Island is just across the bridge.
The shuttle bus will have a stop at Mingyue Shantang on its return trip, which is also a scenic spot and looks pretty good.
