Take JR from Nagoya to Takayama Station. After exiting the station, the Nohi BUS station is on the left hand side.

Day 7: Go to Takayama - Takayama Ancient Street - Hida Furukawa (Pilgrimage)

I exchanged JR PASS for two tickets on the 9th from Takayama-Shirakawa-go and Shirakawa-go-Kanazawa, and assigned a window seat.

After dropping off our things at the hotel, we started exploring Gaoshan Old Street.

Then go to Hida Furukawa for a pilgrimage.

I also took some other photos during the tour. This store is the one in the anime. When you enter, the store will give you a book for you to leave messages in. After opening it, you find that many bosses have directly drawn anime scenes on this guest book.

By the way, this was taken from the lounge on the right after exiting Hida Furukawa Station.

Day 8, Day 4: Shinhotaka Onsen-Cable Car

Get up early and visit the Miyagawa morning market in Takayama.

I purchased a 2-day pass, which includes unlimited rides on the Nohi Bus within 2 days, as well as a round-trip ticket for the Shin-Hotaka Ropeway.

From Takayama to Shin-Hotaka Onsen, you can only take the Nohi Bus other than self-driving, and the one-way fare is about 2,400 yen. And if you want to go to Shirakawa-go or Kanazawa, you have to take the Nohi Bus back from Shin-Hotaka. Only high mountains will do.

This picture is from the Shinhotaka Ropeway intermediate station.

In addition, at Shin-Hotaka Onsen, I was lucky enough to experience a mixed bath in an outdoor hot spring. A young couple, a few young girls, and me, it seemed that everyone except me was Japanese... Japanese hot spring bathing You also know the custom of not wearing clothes. This hot spring is a secret hot spring. There are no staff, it is completely open-air, without any shelter. It is a hot spring pool. The only facility is a changing room. When I walked into the changing room, I was scared 3- It took 4 minutes to walk out….
