Dagejia Fountain is located in Chere Township, Angren County, Tibet, on the way to Ngari, 25 kilometers away from National Highway 219. It is the largest group of geysers in China, with an altitude of 5,086 meters.
The car was driving on the desolate plateau, and when the air was filled with an increasingly strong "rotten egg" smell, I knew that we were not far from a hot spring.
In the past year, we set off from Lhasa many times and traveled between Shigatse and Ngari, trying to find the most beautiful hot springs hidden on the Tibetan plateau.
On the way, I often thought of the shock I felt when I accidentally saw the Grand Prismatic Hot Spring in Yellowstone Park in the United States last year. Would Tibet, which is also in the "western region", also have hot springs as beautiful as the Grand Prismatic?
I think there is.
My wife and I were right next to the main spring and wanted to take a closer look at the eruption of the hot spring. We found that the intensity of the spring eruption was erratic, with the highest point being about 4 meters and the lowest point being less than half a meter; there was no change between each eruption. At regular time intervals, it seems that the spring water is constantly gushing out, but when one erupts at a higher height, the other erupts at a lower level, alternating in sequence.
