The thick fog on Donghouding has dispersed, and the moonlight illuminates the sea of clouds in the mountains.
I was ashamed to rewrite Shixian's poem as the title. In fact, the moon was a waxing gibbous that night, much more than a "half moon."
As a rigorous science and engineering student, originally planned to use "87% round" instead of "half round", but found that it would affect the neatness of the antithesis and the rhythm of chanting, so he gave up.

I travel once every two weeks, so I chose Donghouding this time. The weather forecast changed before departure, and we once considered Beiling Mountain as an alternative. It was not until the day of departure that the weather forecast changed from moderate rain to overcast to rain, so we decided to take a gamble and travel.
There has been too much rain this year, and weekends are always hit with precise rain. If you are unlucky, it will be foggy all the way; if you are the most unlucky, the tent will be blown away.
Although it was foggy the day after this camping trip, in hindsight, Donghouding turned out to be a very good camping trip this year.
I once again saw the sea of clouds under the moonlight, and it had been 17 years since I last saw such a landscape.
The following begins with a running account in chronological order.
What needs to be said is that the grassland scenery on this section of the Capital Loop Line is very nice, but there are no pictures.
Baidu showed that it would take 4.5 hours to get there, but in fact, including the stopover time, it took us almost 7.5 hours to reach our destination from Beijing.
If you plan to go to Donghouding on a weekend, then accommodation on the way would be a better choice than a one-day round trip.
Since Pengpeng was away, I took on the heavy responsibility of driver. Because I couldn’t take pictures while driving, my travel diary started directly from Luanhe Park, so there were a lot of missing pictures.
When going to Donghouding, you will pass by Luanheyuan Park. But I don't know if it is the only way.
30 yuan/car, the scenery is worth it.
The cement trails inside the park and the scenery nearby are very pleasing to the eye. I plan to visit Luanheyuan Park alone.
Luanheyuan Park when returning the next day
The car can drive directly to the mountainside of Donghouding, which is more than 1,800 meters above sea level. Follow the hillside on the left and follow the direction of the ridge to the right. You can reach Donghouding by hiking along the path.
Of course, it’s not that easy to walk up, because each of us carries an average weight of 30-35 kilograms.
Looking back, the valley is the direction from Luanheyuan Park. Because some crops are planted, patches of light green land are formed.
Looking back, the light on the left side of the center of the picture below is relatively white The bright area is the parking location, which is over 1,800 meters above sea level and is the starting point of our hike.
You can see the destination at a glance, and it doesn't look very steep, but the slope and distance of the continuous climb exceeds all other heavy-duty hikes this year, making it the most tiring one this year.
After more than an hour, we finally climbed to the last platform under Donghouding, which was a large meadow. But we are going to camp at the top of the mountain. The mountain is as high as the peak, and we like the feeling of being a little higher than the mountain.
It's getting higher and the clouds are getting thicker and thicker.
Finally reached the top, 2292.6 meters above sea level, in exactly 1.5 hours.
On one side of the mountain top, a large pile of mani appeared in front of you.
This place is close to Inner Mongolia, and the Mongolians are a nation influenced by Tibetan Buddhism. This is probably the reason why there are Mani piles on the top of the mountain.
Religious things rarely make people feel friendly, and their tokens and symbols give people a sense of solemnity. In this wilderness, it's awe-inspiring, and a little invasive.
I got goosebumps all over my body, and I blame my short sleeves and the cold wind on the top of the mountain.
Manidui is awe-inspiring, and because there is no shelter on the top of the mountain, we chose to return to the platform at the bottom of the mountain and find a place with dense trees to camp.
The strong wind came and brought heavy fog.
The fog only comes in bursts, but sooner or later it will be overwhelming. We had to get down early and set up camp because camping in thick fog after dark would be a pretty bad experience.
After setting up camp, the clouds and mist were already staring at us.
Clouds, that is, heavy fog, stood before our eyes like a city wall.
After only 5 minutes of leisure, we were enveloped by clouds and mist.
Good clouds are either in the sky or under your feet. This is clearly a bad cloud.
The heavy fog is coming, so I eat a rich simple meal. At this moment, I am grateful for the company of Lao Tan Pickled Cabbage Noodles.
Looking at the top of the mountain, it still looked like it was covered with thick clouds. I fell asleep disappointed.
I fell asleep at 8 o'clock because I drank too much water. At 10 o'clock the urge to urinate hit me, and I opened my eyes again.
I found something strange about the tent, it was a little too bright, and the light obviously didn't come from the camping friends, it should be the moonlight.
Get out of the tent. The 87% moon hangs high on the top of the East Monkey Mountain. Looking back at the valley, the civilized me suddenly said -
"Fuck!"
Due to the long exposure, the photo is much brighter than what the naked eye can see, but the visual effect is also very good.
The sea of clouds itself is rare (only once this year). This time I saw the sea of clouds under the moon, which is a once-in-three-year sight for me.
The half-autumn moon in the East Monkey Mountain casts its shadow into the sea of clouds flowing along the Luanhe River.
I was stunned to find a poem with a similar artistic conception, adapted it and gave it the title of this article, and then started writing this travel note.
In fact, the wind was not very strong at night, but the sea of clouds was rushing rapidly under the time-lapse photography, which is the video at the beginning of the article.
Post it again:

How to shoot starry sky and starfield time-lapse photography with mobile phone ?
Friends who want to know can leave a message at the end of the article. If there are enough friends in need, I will write a special tutorial~
The tent in the video is my tent. Follow me around the hills of Beijing.
It has embraced the sea of clouds and morning glow with me, been soaked in starlight and dew, and been blown into the tent pole.
This yellow tent is to me what that backpack is to Eason Chan.
When I got up early, it was still foggy, and it seemed that I would miss the sunrise and the sea of clouds in the daytime.
Unwilling to give up, I took the drone and flew it in a circle, but the drone also got wet.
Break camp and go down the mountain.
All rubbish is packed away and there are no misplaced resources in East Houding.
The girl was obsessed with flowers and picked them all the way.
It took 1 hour to go down the mountain, and the travel report is over~
