The shoreline of Dianchi Lake, which is destined to be defeated, is shrinking and Dianchi Lake is getting smaller. The Panlong River, carrying sediment along the way, gradually extends forward. During the Republic of China, Zeng Zesheng, the founder of Kunming's "Gongsheng Pharmacy" and another legend of Yunnan Baiyao, bought land in Haigeng to build a Baiyao factory and a lakeside villa.

In 1970, the dream of harvesting grain from Dianchi Lake reached its peak during the "Lake Land Reconstruction" campaign. So, shouting the slogan "Change the world and benefit the future generations", amidst the rumbling sound of cannons that opened mountains and exploded rocks, they started the absurd action of "marching to Dian Lake and asking for food from Dian Lake". Hundreds of thousands of people mounted horses, competed with thousands of sails to throw stones, surrounded dry fields, dug soil from the Western Mountains, mixed it with silt, and dreamed of improving the soil quality, fighting vigorously for 8 months. Due to human fanaticism, Dianchi Lake experienced another catastrophe, and 30,000 acres of water surface no longer existed. It's a pity that the mud in Dianchi Lake did not bring the ideal results to the callers, and they produced a high yield of rice and wheat. The fields that dried up from Dianchi Lake and were unable to grow crops have now become tourist and leisure resorts, sports training bases, and high-end villa areas. People who like to live by the water naturally do not want to let go of this unique place with beautiful scenery, but now Dianchi Lake is overwhelmed and has become old and small.
The scenery of the past has gone with the smoke. Unfortunately, the lost nature cannot be restored, and it is impossible for the earth to recreate Dianchi Lake. At least in Haigeng Park, we will no longer be able to see the face of Caohai.

Next to the cable car station is the Haigeng Dragon King Temple, which was built in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties.
The Dragon King Temple in Haigeng has been damaged several times over the past hundreds of years. During the Republic of China, Long Yun, Chairman of Yunnan Province, converted it into a firearms warehouse during the restoration of the original site. Later, it was dilapidated and abandoned, with only the sentry tower and broken walls remaining. It was renovated in 2009. It has the main hall, the front hall and the left and right wing rooms. Both sentry towers are preserved. There is an ancient catalpa tree planted by Long Yun in the courtyard.
Haigeng Dragon King Temple is opposite Xishan Longmen across the sea. It is an important place for fishermen and indigenous residents around Dianchi Lake to pray for good weather, abundant harvests, and peace and prosperity. Grand gatherings will be held here every major festival and event such as the Spring Festival, March 3rd, and the opening of Dianchi Lake for fishing. After visiting this point, if you want to eat vegetarian food, the temple can provide it.

It was moved to the park during urban road reconstruction and also added a landscape to the park.

There are many rivers in Kunming leading to Dianchi Lake. Walking from Haigeng Park, the entrance of Jinjia River into the lake is not far from Panlong River. The Panlong River is personally appointed as the river chief by the Municipal Party Committee Secretary. Water from the Niulan River flows into Dianchi Lake from hundreds of kilometers away through the Panlongjiang River channel, hoping to transform the water body of Dianchi Lake. Standing at the entrance to the lake, you can see that the water here is obviously clear.
The newly built bridge at the entrance of the Panlong River into the lake has been built for more than two years. The other end is still sealed with steel plates. It is not known when it will lead to the other side. For now, you can only take a detour to Hubin Road, cross the Panlongjiang Bridge, and enter "Peninsula", which is a European-style high-end residential area. After entering the gate, one road leads to the Xinghai Wetland Park on the lakeside, and the other leads to the villa area.
Xinghai Peninsula Wetland Park is more open and has a unique design. It has just been built and there are sporadic tourists.
