The time to end the Wanfenglin Scenic Area is around 12 o'clock. We have to drive for four hours to our destination for the evening, Qingyan Ancient Town. I don't know what is there to see here. It is actually a 5A-level scenic spot. It makes me feel so excited. Wanfenglin is also a 4A scenic spot with a wide range of vision and a worthwhile trip. One of the disadvantages of traveling by car is that when booking a hotel, you always pay attention to whether there is a parking space. This time, we booked a hotel outside the ancient town, which has convenient parking.
I took the highway all the way back and actually passed the "Beipanjiang Bridge". I clearly took the provincial highway when I came here, which shows that there is more than one bridge, and the design is basically similar.
When passing by Qinglong, there was a sign on the roadside saying "Twenty-Four Turns". I really wanted to go down and have a look, but unfortunately time did not allow for it, so I had to pass by this famous place.
We arrived at Qingyan Ancient Town smoothly around five o'clock in the evening. The hotel was just as we expected. The boss came out to pick us up and guided us to park our car in an underground parking lot, and then took our luggage to their hotel, a place with antique decoration.
It wasn't dark yet, and the night view of the ancient town was something worth seeing, so we went straight to see it. The boss kindly told us that the free evening time in the ancient town was coming soon, so we could wait at the gate for the free opening, and there was such a good thing!
Qingyan Ancient Town, one of the four ancient towns in Guizhou, is located in the southern suburbs of Guiyang City, Guizhou Province. It was built in the 10th year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1378) and was originally a military fortress. In the ancient town, ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties with exquisite designs and exquisite craftsmanship are densely intertwined. Temples, pavilions, painted pillars, carved beams, flying corners and double eaves alternate with each other.
The four major ancient towns in Guizhou are Qiandongnan Zhenyuan Ancient Town, Guiyang Qingyan Ancient Town, Chishui Bing'an Ancient Town and Jinping Longli. I visited two places this time and was quite satisfied. The other two are probably similar.
Just a short distance from the hotel is the gate of the ancient town. The gate of this fortress is really not big.
Many tourists are waiting in the square in front of the city gate, waiting for the free time just like me.
The door opened and everyone rushed in. This is the North City Gate.
The first sight upon entering the city gate. All ancient towns are filled with commercial institutions.
Walking along the main street, the shops on both sides are connected and you can hear the shouts and sounds of each other.
The main street takes a small turn here.
When we arrived at the south gate, it was called "Dingguang Gate". There was a small lake outside the gate, and there were city walls next to it, so you could walk around on both sides.
We were taking pictures of the city gate tower on the city wall. It was starting to get dark at this time, so this was the perfect time to take pictures.
Enter the south gate again and walk back, taking pictures of the south gate in the city

Walk along the street towards the North Gate
The street scene at night is average.
There are many ancient buildings in the city.
Arrived at the North Gate
Out of town.
Looking back from outside the city
North City Gate Square
I’m going back to Guiyang the next morning, so I want to visit the ancient town again before dawn.
From the north gate, you can also walk to the city walls on both sides.
The streets were very quiet in the morning, and no one had left their stalls yet.
This time we did not take the main street, but took other small streets where ancient buildings abound.
We’re at the South City Gate again.
Outside the South City Gate
Then walk back from the main street.
After finishing the tour of the ancient town in the morning, the main content of this trip to Guizhou is over. It is also very close to Guiyang. We drove off, found a place to refuel (returning the car requires a full tank of gas), and drove all the way into Guiyang city to return the car.
There were still two hours left after returning the car. We walked around Guiyang city center and tasted the famous local snack at noon - silk dolls, which are actually pancakes and rolls with water for dipping. By the way, here in Guiyang, the condiments that are dipped in food are called dipping in water. I really didn’t understand this word when I came here for the first time.
The journey to the airport went smoothly in the afternoon. I even met a friend at the airport. The two of them were traveling at the same time, but unfortunately they never met. This time they met at the airport.
Unlucky, my flight kept getting delayed. My friend’s flight was originally later than mine, but they all flew to Shenyang. I was still waiting at Guiyang Airport, and the plane didn’t take off until late at night. This is one of the highlights of this trip. Not perfect! Nothing in life is perfect!
