Day2 Badaling Great Wall

When the two little ones were very young, they had read about the Great Wall in the Super Wings book. The story was that Ledi was going to Beijing to deliver a package. When he flew over the Great Wall, he exclaimed: The Great Wall is so majestic! Therefore, the two little ones have always yearned for the Great Wall in their hearts.

So on our second day in Beijing, we saw that the weather was good, the temperature was not too hot, and it wasn’t raining, so we were ready to climb the Great Wall.

how to get to?

1. You can take the S2 suburban train to Xizhimen, which takes more than an hour.

2. You can go to Deshengmen and take bus 877 or 919. The journey takes about 2 hours.

3. High-speed rail. This is the mode of transportation we chose this time, and it is also a new route opened due to the needs of hosting the Winter Olympics. Take the subway to Beijing North Railway Station. Beijing North goes directly to the Badaling Great Wall. The fare ranges from 22 to 29 yuan. The travel time on the road is 19 minutes, 29 minutes and 34 minutes. It is very fast! After leaving the station, you can walk directly to the Great Wall Scenic Area and it doesn’t take long. So I highly recommend this method!

The interior decoration of the dining car is very suitable for the Winter Olympics!

After exiting the station, there was this kind of sloping lift box elevator. We thought it was very interesting when we saw it for the first time. However, we couldn't see the outside scene clearly when we entered the elevator. In fact, it was no different from taking an ordinary elevator.

After exiting the station, we saw a ticketing center. We thought it was a ticketing point for the Great Wall Scenic Area. However, after a closer look, we found out that this ticketing center sells cable car tickets. It can reach directly to the North 8th floor. It costs 140 yuan for a round trip and 100 yuan for one way. Yuan. When exiting the Great Wall Scenic Area, go left and take the cable car to the right.

We thought that since we came to the Great Wall, of course it would be meaningful for the children to climb the Great Wall themselves and truly experience the Great Wall. If we really don’t have the energy to come down in the end, we can just take the cable car down.

The Badaling Great Wall is an important part of the great defense project the Great Wall in ancient China. is the essence of the Ming Dynasty Great Wall. It is located in Yanqing District, Beijing, 60 kilometers away from Beijing City. It is located at the highest point of the choke point leading to Beijing from the northwest, with the highest north 8th floor of the city tower, 888 meters above sea level, and a dangerous terrain. It is an important pass to guard the capital and the capital, and is known as the "Key to the North Gate".

Walking from the station to the entrance of the scenic spot, you will pass the Great Wall Museum, a dome theater, and a small commercial street. After passing the security check and entering the "North Gate Lock" gate, you will arrive at the Great Wall Scenic Spot. It takes about less than 10 minutes to walk.

The ticket to the Great Wall is 40 yuan/person. After checking the ticket, go in, which is divided into South Tower and North Tower (as shown in the picture below). Go left for the South Tower and right for the North Tower.

The South Tower is steeper and has fewer tourists. You can walk all the way to the South 7th Floor. The North Tower is relatively flatter and has more people. The North 8th Floor is the highest altitude of the Badaling Great Wall, and you can walk all the way to the North 12th Floor. Of course, if you have the physical strength, you can climb on both sides.

We chose to climb the Beicheng Tower because we told the two children that the 8th North Tower is the Haohan Slope. If you don’t reach the Great Wall, you are not a hero. In fact, you have to reach the Haohan Slope to be a hero.

Things to note when climbing the Great Wall: 1. Pay attention to sun protection, there is no cover at all, direct sunlight; 2. Pay attention to non-slip, I used to think that they were all big blue bricks, so they would not be very slippery, but in fact, it is really slippery, if it rains If so, you really have to be more careful.

In fact, my first intuitive feeling when I arrived at the Great Wall was not that it was too majestic! So spectacular! Rather! Why are there so many inscriptions on the bricks of the city wall! ! Densely packed, at a glance, almost every brick has engravings on it! I really had an indescribable feeling at that time, and I felt a little heartbroken. These ancient stone bricks that have withstood historical changes have escaped the marks of time, but not the marks of human beings. . . A sigh. . .

When we started to climb the Great Wall, we told the two children that the Great Wall was an ancient defense project, and that the Great Wall was built by manpower. It can be said that in order to build the Great Wall, sacrifices were huge, and we did not say that the Great Wall is not a hero. The North 8th floor is the hero slope. Once you get there, you will be very powerful!

Ever since, my brother took the lead and rode away from the crowd... I rarely took photos of my brother climbing the Great Wall. Every time, he rushed to a tower alone and waited for us there for a long time.

Every time you reach a building, you have a choice and an exit. If you feel that your physical strength is not enough, you can go down the mountain through the exit without continuing to climb up. This is really considerate!

After climbing the North 4th floor, my brother said he couldn't climb anymore. Hu Xiansen was worried that if he continued to climb, he would have to hold his brother while climbing, so we started to back off and thought about getting down to the North 5th floor.

As a result, my brother refused and insisted on climbing to the 8th floor in the north. We were not allowed to give up. He said, "We are just here for tourism and we are tired. Think of those soldiers and those who built the Great Wall." We were speechless, the brainwashing was so successful that we returned all the words we encouraged them in the first place.

So my brother was encouraged. When we got to the 5th floor of the north, we said we should get off through the exit and not continue. As a result, my brother refused and wanted to continue moving forward! Even if you are tired, hold your dad’s hand and keep moving forward!

Some sections of the Great Wall are really steep, and the walk is actually not easy. But when you turn around and look back out of breath, you will feel that it is worth it!

After passing the North 6th floor, you need to bypass the North 7th floor and continue to the North 8th floor.

On the way to climb, my brother suddenly called me, "Mom!" I said, "What's wrong?" He said, I love you! The confession came unexpectedly, and I quickly said, I love you too, baby!

Standing at the highest point, majestic and spectacular, this is not the whole feeling. Another part of my feeling is that it is because of the significance of the existence of the Great Wall. In order to resist the invasion of foreigners and to protect the people in the pass, it stretches continuously in the north of China. The Jedi have traveled thousands of miles and spent a lot of manpower, material and financial resources, just to protect their home and country. I suddenly remembered that a professor said that the Chinese nation is a peace-loving nation. How can a nation that builds the Great Wall be a nation that likes to invade others?

On the Great Wall, my brother knew that it was a defense project against foreign invasion, so he asked me, Mom, do we still have the Great Wall now? I said, of course! The uncles of the People's Liberation Army who are guarding us at the border of our country to protect our country are our Great Wall! After listening, he nodded.

On the North 8th floor, you can actually continue walking forward. We felt that it was almost done, so we went down the mountain from the North 8th floor.

It was easy to go down the mountain, and it felt pretty fast. When we walked to the north 5th floor, we saw a pulley and thought it would be fun, so we chose to ride the pulley.

The ticket price for the pulley is 80 yuan per person. Children over 1.2 meters in height are eligible for the full price, regardless of age.

The pulley is a bit different from the pulley we imagined. This is not a single pulley, but like a small train. Moreover, the speed is not controlled by oneself, but by a staff member at the front, so this type of pulley is not driven. Very fast.

The exit of the pulley is at Bear Paradise. There is still some distance from there to the exit of the scenic spot, so I personally feel that riding the pulley does not save energy. According to our itinerary from the North 8th floor to the North 5th floor, I feel that we should just walk down the Great Wall directly. Fortunately, it won’t be very tiring.

On the way back to the exit of the scenic spot, I passed Juyongwai Town and Wangjing Stone. I also took a photo in Wangjing Square with a stone monument that said that if you don't reach the Great Wall, you are not a hero.

If it hadn't been for my brother's persistence today, we wouldn't have climbed to the North 8th floor of the Badaling Great Wall - the highest point of the Badaling Great Wall. I thought I could take a photo with the "Unheroic" monument on the North 8th floor, but I didn't see it. Instead, I saw quite a few at the foot of the mountain.

In order to become a hero, my brother not only climbed the fastest, but there were some very steep places. I was worried that he would slip and I wanted to hold his hand, but he refused. I was afraid that if I did, he would no longer be a hero...

I said, even if I hold your hand, you are already a great man! It’s great that you can persevere today! When we all wanted to give up, it was you who encouraged us to continue to persevere. When we said we were tired, it was you who said think about the people who built the Great Wall and the soldiers who resisted foreigners. What does our tiredness mean? Every time you reach a city tower the fastest, it gives us the motivation to find you and keep moving forward. You are really a good man! proud of you!
