1. Introduction to rime

Famous rime viewing resorts in my country include Jilin, Lushan, Huangshan and other places. Among them, the beauty of Jilin rime is unparalleled. It is known as the four natural wonders of China together with Guilin landscape, Yunnan Stone Forest and the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River.

The snow willows in Hanjiang River, the jade trees and qiong flowers, and the rime in Jilin are well-deserved. If you want to see rime, you have to go to Jilin City, Jilin Province! Every winter, walking along the Songhua River in Jilin City, you can see the white branches of "thousands of pear trees blooming like a sudden spring breeze overnight".

In fact, the word "rime" is not a modern meteorological concept. It first appeared in "Zi Lin" of the Jin Dynasty. Later, literati and poets gave it various elegant names such as "Qionghua" and "Snow Willow" based on its crystal clear and pure appearance.

Rime is not the snow pressing on the branches, nor is it the ice frozen on the treetops. To be precise, it can be regarded as a kind of frost. To form rime, two seemingly contradictory conditions are required: sufficient water vapor and low enough temperature.

But in Jilin City, there is a Manman Dam power plant in the upper reaches of the Songhua River. After power generation, the temperature of the river water is as high as above zero 4 degrees, which is in sharp contrast to the winter temperature of more than minus 20 degrees. The river flows all the way down, and the surface of the river is not frozen for dozens of miles.

There are lush trees and branches on both sides of the Songhua River. Every winter, the mist rising from the unfrozen river water will condense into frost flowers on the trees when it encounters the cold air. Meteorologists call it "rime" and the locals call it "rime". Tree hanging”.

Seen from a distance, the rime is as beautiful as the branches of a jade tree. "The cold water of the river is clear, and the flowers on both sides of the bank are condensed" is a typical summary of the enchanting and unique charm of Jilin's rime spectacle.

Different from the rime on small shrubs in high-altitude areas, Jilin rime is condensed on large trees such as willows and pine trees growing on the plains. At a glance, on the vast snowfield, the trees are covered with silver, and there is a kind of Atmospheric and open beauty.

The most famous place to see rime in Jilin is Rime Island. Rime Island is a small island in the middle of the Songhua River formed by the impact of the Songhua River. It covers an area of about 6 square kilometers. It is located in Manchu Town, Wula Street, Longtan District, Jilin City, about 40 away from the urban area of Jilin City. kilometer.

As the name suggests, Rime Island is named after the abundant and beautiful rime. Rime Island is low-lying and surrounded by rivers. The rime is thick and dense.

There are many tall old elm and willow trees growing on the riverside around the island. The trees are unique in shape and covered with white crystal frost flowers. The river breeze blows the silver threads and sparkles. The scenery is wild and beautiful, and you can often take pictures of the scenery. Popular among photography enthusiasts.

Hantun Village and Zengtong Village are the places where rime scenery is most concentrated, and they are also the best places to watch and photograph rime.

On Risong Island, in addition to admiring the fantastic and wonderful rime, you can also visit the Northeast Folk Custom Street attractions on the island to experience the unique Guandong folk customs and Manchu customs; you can also ride a horse-drawn cart to experience the pleasure of traveling in the ice and snow.

For foreign tourists, it seems that they must go to Rime Island to see the wonders of rime. But for people in urban Jilin, rime is a down-to-earth sight, a common sight on the way to school and work.

The Songhua River passes through the city in a reverse S shape, and rime can be seen on both sides of the Songhua River in the urban area. Songjiang Middle Road is a good viewing spot. However, with the development of urban construction in recent years, the rime on both sides of the Songjiang River has lost its original and rustic flavor.

Ashe and Wujiashao on Jifeng East Road are also good viewing spots. They are very close to the Fengman Dam and are in the upper reaches of the Songhua River. It is said that the rime here is the most dense and beautiful, and it is the "wind vane" of rime in the city. ". If there wasn't even here, there probably wouldn't be any Risong Island either.

2. Best viewing time

The conditions for the formation of rime are relatively harsh, so viewing the spectacle of rime requires a bit of luck, which is a bit rare. Although the probability of seeing rime on Risong Island is high, there are also many tourists who cannot see rime.

The best viewing period for rime is from mid-to-late December of 12 to late 2 of the following year. On a sunny day with no wind and the temperature at night is below minus20℃, the possibility of rime is very high.

As the saying goes, "Look at the fog at night, look at the hanging flowers in the morning, and wait until nearly noon to appreciate the falling flowers." It refers to the process of rime from scratch, from existence to non-appearance, so to see rime, you need to get up early, in the morning710 o’clock is the best time to see and take photos of rime.

Rime will hang on the treetops in the early morning, and the branches will be covered with white and crystal clear frost flowers. Willows and jade branches will hang down, and pines and cypresses will bloom like silver chrysanthemums. Seven or eight o'clock when the sky gets brighter is the best viewing time to see the "tree hanging".

When the sun rises in the early morning, the glow bursts out, and the morning glow, clouds, and rime form a wonderful spectacle.

After ten o'clock in the morning, the temperature rose, and the tree hangings began to fall off. The soft and white rime turned into pieces of snowflakes, which were chased, danced, and scattered slowly under the blowing wind of winter.

3. Special reminder
