What has always attracted me to Xiaoling Mausoleum in the Ming Dynasty is the other side flower that blooms during the autumnal equinox. I wanted to go there when I was in college, but now that I have been working for 4 or 5 years, I have not been able to make the trip. In September of this year, after holding back at home for more than half a year, I finally set off.

Departure: Beijing-Nanjing

Return: Nanjing-Beijing

The original plan was to leave after get off work on Friday and come back early on Sunday to go directly to work, but I underestimated the size of Zhongshan Scenic Area and overestimated my own physical strength. Original plan:

——————————————————————-

D0 (Friday):Beijing-Nanjing

D1 (Saturday): Zhongshan Scenic Area (Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum-Zhongshan Mausoleum-Linggu Temple)

D2 (Sunday): Dabaoen Temple Ruins Park- Pukou Railway Station -Beijing

——————————————————————-

I walked nearly 50,000 steps in the Zhongshan Scenic Area on Saturday, and I felt completely exhausted. The next day, I walked nearly 20,000 steps in the Dabaoen Temple Ruins Park. I really ran out of energy at Pukou Railway Station. I took a taxi directly to Nanjing South Railway Station and changed my ticket when I arrived at Nanjing South Station. Haha, my travel itinerary has become more and more casual.

Zhongshan Scenic Area

The Zhongshan Scenic Area in September smells of sweet-scented osmanthus, and the air is sweet. The entire city of Nanjing is planted with French plane trees. The French plane tree is really a great street tree, and the Paulownia tree is also a tree with beautiful shapes. The branches can cover the entire road. The sunlight shines through the leaves, thin and broken, like the light that finally breaks through the darkness.

Time spent: One day + (I only visited the attractions on the pass in 12 hours. There are many small attractions in Zhongshan Scenic Area that I still didn’t have time to visit. Those who said they could visit Zhongshan Scenic Area in 3 hours were car tours. (Have you gone around a circle?)

01|Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum

Flower of the other shore:

The reason why I have always been thinking about Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum is because of these Bana flowers. The flower on the other side is full of magical colors. Legend has it that it is a flower of heaven. It blooms in the seventh month of the lunar calendar, lasts longer than summer, and blooms in autumn. It is a flower that grows by the Santu River. Its fragrance has magical power and can evoke the life of the deceased. memory.

Legends are just legends. The scientific name of Bana flower is Amaryllis safranii, a plant in the Amaryllidaceae family. The sentence "It takes a thousand years for flowers to bloom and a thousand years for flowers to fall. The flowers and leaves grow in different directions and will never see each other in the world." The sadness of Bana flower is expressed The background color is "Flowers blooming on Huangquan Road", so planting it here is fitting for the occasion.

Stone statue road:

"The most beautiful 600 meters in Nanjing", the Stone Elephant Road is the first section of the Ming Xiaoling Shrine, 615 meters long. Six kinds of stone animals are arranged along the way, including lions, scorpions, camels, elephants, unicorns and horses, 2 of each type. Yes, a total of 12 pairs of 24 pieces, each kind of two kneeling and two standing, walking along the road to welcome the attendants.

Everlasting Deer Garden:

There are a bunch of cute little deer. You can buy a handful of deer grass for 20 yuan and you can feed them, and the little deer will flock to them. The deer here are very smart (maybe they are very hungry). If you have deer grass in your hand, they will surround you and take food directly from your hand. If you don’t have deer grass in your hand, they will ignore you. Alas , too realistic.

02|Meiling Palace

The parasol trees planted around Meiling Palace look like a gemstone necklace from the air, with Meiling Palace being the brightest emerald on the necklace. This sycamore necklace is green in early spring, lush in midsummer, golden in late autumn, and white in winter, making it picturesque in all four seasons.

Meiling Palace is known as the "No. 1 Villa in the Far East". It is located on Xiaohongshan Mountain and is also known as the "Xiaohongshan Mansion". The layout and decoration are still the same as they were back then. I really like the decoration of that era, especially the study room, which is full of the aroma of books.

Recommended attractions: Meiling Palace, First Lady Coffee

Transportation: Alfalfa Park Station of Metro Line 2; can be reached on foot

03|Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum & Music Station

Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum:

The mausoleum building is axially symmetrical. From the archway, tomb passage, mausoleum gate, stele pavilion to the memorial hall and tomb chamber, the horizontal distance is 700 meters, and the height difference is 70 meters. There are 392 stone steps and 10 platforms, all constructed of white granite and reinforced concrete. Covered with blue glass tiles. The design of the stone steps is really unique. Looking from the bottom up, the platform disappears and looks like a step; looking from the top down, the steps disappear and looks like a flat slope.

The pigeons at the bandstand are also an attractive feature of Zhongshan Scenic Area. You can buy a pack of pigeon food for 10 yuan and the pigeons will land on your hand and take pictures of them. The semicircular audience steps have a concert hall atmosphere, and forest concerts are held here every year.

Ticket: 10 yuan/person

04|Linggu Temple Scenic Area

What makes Linggu Temple become an Internet celebrity check-in spot is the fireflies in this midsummer season. I can’t go there at this time. If you go in midsummer, you can grab a spot after 6pm, but it’s difficult to capture such a grand scene with your mobile phone.

At this time of year, in addition to the sweet smell of sweet-scented osmanthus, there are also chestnuts falling at any time in Linggu Temple. If you are not careful, you will be "falling objects from high altitude".

I took pictures of the dragonfly on the right for a long time. It was motionless. I always thought it was dead, but it flapped its wings and flew away...

01|Looking at each other for a thousand years

I decided to go there after seeing this photo. Well, I couldn't have captured the shock I felt when I saw that photo. It was really a dialogue between the past and the present.

The glass walls on both sides are carved with various Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. On the way to the Millennium View, multiple LED touch screens are designed. When you walk on them, a lotus will bloom, which is called "Lotus is born step by step".

It is recommended to go on weekdays. There will be a lot of tour groups on Saturdays and Sundays. There are too many people. I wanted to take pictures of this scene without people. I waited for nearly an hour, haha.

02|Sari Buddha Light

Most of the various Buddhas and Bodhisattvas have been restored, and the atmosphere created is very good. However, there are too many tourists, and the original purity of the Buddhist hall has disappeared.

This place is all lit up with lights. There is a whole wall of mirrors, which visually opens up the space. However, it always feels like a strong nightclub atmosphere, and it is a very low-end nightclub. Hahaha, I’m sorry to bother you, and I’m disrespectful.

I must commemorate this piece of clothing. I threw it away after returning from Nanjing because it had been worn for many years. When I first bought it, it was for taking a road photo. Now the clothes have reached the point where I want to throw them away, but on the road The photo hasn't been taken yet.

03|Bodhi

The artistic conception under the bodhi tree is really beautiful. There is also a futon, and the people wearing Hanfu look at it. The artistic conception is perfect.

04|Copying scriptures

The cost of copying the sutras is 10 yuan/person. If you want to put it in a sutra bucket to save and take away, it is 25 yuan/person. Only the "Prajnaparamita Heart Sutra" is available. After copying sutras at Hanshan Temple in Suzhou a few years ago, I always copied a copy when I met sutra copyists. The process of copying sutras is a process of meditation, which may be different from copying sutras in ordinary times. In this temple, you really copy sutras. Don't worry about anything else. Hanshan Temple has more scriptures to choose from, and Buddhist scriptures can be enshrined in front of the incense table of Buddha and Bodhisattva on your behalf. I copied the scriptures there for an hour, and then became a scenic spot for an hour. Now a group of people took pictures, and now a group of people watched. It was awesome.

Nanjing Traveling Stranger Youth Hostel

Address: Room 402, Building A, New Metropolis Plaza, No. 85 Changfu Street, Nanjing City

Price: 86 yuan/bed

I highly recommend this place. The environment is very good. Although the dressing room, washroom, bathroom, and laundry room are shared, they are independent of each other. What I like most is the layout of each room, which is like a maze. There is something at every corner. indicator.

I stayed in the Jinling City special double bed , which was decorated with gray tiles. In fact, the difference from traditional bunk beds is that there are wooden partitions between each bed, similar to a space capsule.

The beds in his house are built from the floor to the ceiling on three floors. Although this area is small, it can accommodate 12*2 people. Of course, you pay by bed space. The bed is a double bed. If you are alone, You also need to pay for an entire bed.

There is only one thing that I can understand but I don’t like very much, that is you can’t eat in bed, haha, I’m really not used to it, it would be great if I could watch dramas and eat fruit in bed. If you want to eat, you can only go to the public area. Activities are organized from time to time in the evening. The day I went there was Werewolf. It is said that there will be movies and parties.
