Anshan Tanggangzi Hot Spring Sanatorium is one of the four major rehabilitation centers in the country. It is located 15 kilometers south of the city and covers an area of ​​650,000 square meters. Tanggangzi Hot Spring was discovered in the Tang Dynasty and is one of the famous hot springs with the longest history in China. The hot spring water is colorless, clear and transparent, with a temperature of 72°C and contains more than 30 kinds of trace elements such as potassium, magnesium, hydrogen and sodium. Hot spring water and hot mineral mud combined with massage, acupuncture, wax therapy and photoelectric therapy have good curative effects on rheumatoid arthritis and skin. Now it has become a tourist resort mainly for physical therapy and rehabilitation.

According to the records of Haicheng County, Tanggangzi hot spring was discovered in the 18th year of Zhenguan in the Tang Dynasty. Emperor Taizong Li Shimin of the Tang Dynasty came here and went to the spring to "sit in the soup" (bath) during the Eastern Expedition; Tangchi County was established here in the Liao and Jin Dynasties. The hot spring is called "Tang", and the county is named after the spring. Jin Taizong also came here to "sit in the hot spring". Near the hot spring is the "Grandma Temple Monument" erected in the third year of Chongzhen in the Ming Dynasty; in the 1920s, Zhang Zuolin built the "Grandma Temple Monument" here. "Longquan Villa" has many large and small baths. The Japanese also built the "Ducui Pavilion" hotel and the "Ryuugong Hot Spring" here. In the early 1930s, the last emperor Puyi stayed at the hot spring hotel twice, and on March 6, 1932, he signed the "Japanese-Manchurian Secret Treaty" here selling the sovereignty of Northeast China. Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, after many years of vigorous restoration and construction of hot springs, it has gradually been built into a hot spring rehabilitation center. There are 18 hot springs in the sanatorium, which has a rich ethnic style garden architecture. The water temperature ranges from 57 to 65 degrees Celsius, and can reach a maximum of about 70 degrees Celsius. The water contains more than 20 mineral elements, which have good physical therapy value for various arthritis, sequelae of war injuries, and various geriatric diseases.
