Meidaizhao is surrounded by mountains and rivers, with pleasant scenery and unique architectural style. It is built in imitation of the Chinese style of the Central Plains and fused with the Mongolian and Tibetan styles. It is a lamasery that "combines a city and a temple, where humans and Buddhas live together". There are a large number of murals in the temple, such as the historical murals of Sakyamuni in the Main Hall and the murals depicting scenes of Mongolian nobles worshiping Buddha. They are all intact. These are of great significance for studying the history of Mongolia, Buddhism, architecture and art in the Ming Dynasty.

Meidaizhao is a rare building that integrates temple, palace and city. There is a city wall made of earth and stone around the temple. It is thick and strong and can withstand the rain of artillery shells and cavalry raids by the army. The hall where the Buddha statues are enshrined is located in the city. The plaque on the mountain gate is inscribed with the sentence "The imperial plan is consolidated, the imperial road is Xianning, the people are happy, and the world is clarified", and the inscription is "Da Ming Jin Kingdom", which is quite special. The main buildings in the temple include the Sutra Hall, the Main Hall, the Luohan Hall and the Guanyin Hall. The halls are tall and majestic. They enshrine Buddha and Bodhisattva statues, and display magical instruments. The walls are painted with murals of Buddhist stories and protector statues. The courtyard where the Shunyi Wang family has lived for generations is deep in the city. The sandalwood tower in the Queen Mother Temple stores the Queen Mother's ashes.
