Bayinbuluke Grassland Travel Guide

Scenic spot introduction:

Bayinbulak Prairie is the largest alpine grassland in China. It is located in the northwest of Hejing County, in the intermountain basin of the Tianshan Mountains uplift zone. The local altitude is 2000-2500 meters, 270 kilometers long from east to west, and 136 kilometers wide from north to south. The total area is Covering 23,835 square kilometers, the surrounding mountains are all above 3,000 meters above sea level. It is a typical alpine grassland, alpine meadow, alpine swamp grassland and mountain meadow. It is a natural scenic area integrating mountains, basins and grasslands.

Attractions distribution:

Bayinbulak Grassland means "rich springs" in Mongolian. There is abundant water here. There are 13 large and small springs, 7 lakes, and 20 rivers. It is the birthplace of Kaidu River and is located in the Swan Lake in the southeast of the grassland. It is the only swan nature reserve in China. Bayinbulak grassland is home to 9 ethnic groups including Mongolian, Han, Tibetan and Kazakhstan. The ethnic customs are brilliant and colorful. The annual grassland Naadam event, horse racing, archery and other competitions make tourists forget to leave. Whenever midsummer comes, Bayinbulak Grassland is a prosperous scene with lush green fields, vast lakes and swamps, and cattle and sheep everywhere.
