Scenic spot introduction:

Beihai Tuancheng is known as "the smallest castle in the world" and has a history of more than 800 years. Tuancheng is located on the west side outside the South Gate of Beihai, Xicheng District, Beijing. It was originally a small island in Taiye Pool. During the reconstruction in the Ming Dynasty, the city wall was built and the two southeastern water surfaces were filled with flat land, basically forming the current scale and surrounding environment. In the 19th year of Emperor Kangxi's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1680), Chengguang Hall was rebuilt and the original semicircular hall was changed into a cross-shaped plane. During the Qianlong period, major construction was carried out and the Jade Urn Pavilion was added. Today's Tuancheng is basically the complex of buildings built during the Qianlong period. Its plane is circular, with thousands of bricks surrounding it. The city platform is 4.6 meters above the ground, with a circumference of 276 meters and an area of 4553 square meters. Tuancheng is a green pearl embedded in the classical royal gardens of Beihai and Zhongnanhai. The lush ancient pines and cypresses form a "hanging garden".
