Beijing Xu Beihong Memorial Hall is the first personal memorial hall for an artist in New China. The memorial hall was first established in 1954 and is based on Xu Beihong's former residence. The name of the museum was inscribed by Guo Moruo himself. In 1966, the former residence was demolished due to the construction of the Beijing subway. In 1973, it was Under the instructions of Premier Zhou Enlai, it was moved to Xinjiekou North Street and rebuilt. Finally, it was officially opened to the public in 1983. There are now seven exhibition halls in the museum, displaying Mr. Xu Beihong's oil paintings, traditional Chinese paintings, sketches, calligraphy and other authentic works.

The new Xu Beihong Memorial Hall was built in 1982, with a total area of ​​3,900 square meters and a construction area of ​​4,600 square meters. The main building is a two-story gray exhibition building with a prologue hall and seven exhibition rooms. The prologue hall displays Xu Beihong's self-portraits and Xu Beihong's paintings. Huge photos and exhibition preface; the first, second and seventh exhibition rooms display Xu Beihong's representative Chinese paintings from various periods; the fifth exhibition room displays Xu Beihong's oil paintings, and the sixth exhibition room displays Xu Beihong's sketches. The fourth exhibition room is the Xu Beihong Life Memorial Exhibition Room, which displays the difficult journey of young Xu Beihong from a poor village to the world, as well as the restoration and precious relics of his studio during his lifetime. In addition to the exhibition hall, the museum also collects the posthumous works of Mr. Xu Beihong, the calligraphy and paintings of famous artists from all over the world, and tens of thousands of books, materials, and inscriptions that he collected throughout his life.
