Bulguksa Temple is the largest temple in South Korea and was designated a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 1995. It is located on the mountainside of Toham Mountain in the southeast of Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea. It is a world-wide historical site and a representative site of Gyeongju. The beauty of the temple itself and the outstanding artistic beauty of the stone cultural relics have been recognized around the world.

In Bulguksa Temple there are Duobao Pagoda (National Treasure No. 20), Sakyamuni Pagoda (National Treasure No. 21), Lotus Bridge/Chilbo Bridge (National Treasure No. 22), Cheongun Bridge/Baiyun Bridge (National Treasure No. 23), Gold and Bronze Pilu There are many cultural properties such as the seated statue of Chana Buddha (National Treasure No. 26), the gold and bronze seated statue of Amitabha Tathagata (National Treasure No. 27), and the stupa (Protected Cultural Property No. 61).

Restaurants are mostly concentrated in the center of Gyeongju and around Bomun Lake. The famous roast beef and various hotpots are mouth-watering, and Gyeongju’s famous liquor "Beshu", which is brewed with glutinous rice and herbs, is especially worth trying. "Tent stalls" (roadside food stalls with tents) in more than 30 markets such as Seomun Market and Chilseong Market in Daegu offer a variety of snacks. Haeinsa Temple is also famous for its wild vegetables.

Gyeongju is rich in amethyst, as well as other products such as embroidery, classical art, and traditional handicrafts. Shops are concentrated in the city center and near Bulguksa Temple, and duty-free shops are located on the shores of Bomun Lake. Daegu's "Yangnyeongshi" is a traditional Chinese medicine trading market with a long history, and silk is also a famous product here.

How to get there:

Take city bus No. 10 or 11, or bus No. 101 or 102 at Gyeongju Long-distance Bus Terminal or Gyeongju Express Bus Terminal or opposite Gyeongju Railway Station and get off at Bulguksa Temple parking lot. (Takes about 40 minutes).

It takes about 20-25 minutes by taxi from Gyeongju Long-distance Bus Terminal.
