Cangnan Wanyao Ancient Village Travel Guide

Scenic spot introduction:

Wanyao Ancient Village is located on the bank of the beautiful Yulong Lake in Cangnan County, 20 kilometers away from Cangnan County. It is a famous historical and cultural village in Zhejiang Province and the most beautiful countryside in Zhejiang Province. Built during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty, it is a living fossil of ancient dwellings. Integrating folk houses, ancient ceramic production lines, ancient temples and ancient stages, it still completely retains the ancient village form centered on handicraft workshops during the budding period of the commodity economy. It is a living "history museum" and can be called one of the best cultural landscapes. The Wanyao kiln is built on a slope, and each kiln has eight or nine grids, so it is called Jiejie kiln. Ancient craftsmen made full use of water power to build an eight-level water mortar and a semi-automatic production line with 46 mortars. There are still more than 300 ancient buildings in the early Qing Dynasty style preserved in the village. The stilted buildings are more in the style of Shexiang. They are built on steps along the slope, just like a simple mountain city.
