Changmen Fort is the oldest and largest preserved fort in China. It is located on Dianguang Mountain in Changmen Village, Guantou Town, Lianjiang County. It was built in the fifth year of Chongzhen in the Ming Dynasty and rebuilt in the Qing Dynasty. In the 1884 Sino-French naval battle on the Majiang River, it damaged the 4,585-ton French armored cruiser La Galissonniere. The main gun of the Nagato Fort hit the flagship of Guba, the commander of the French Far East Fleet that invaded China. Guba was injured and eventually died in Taiwan. After that, the Chinese soldiers and civilians fought bloody battles here, tenaciously resisting the Japanese invasion, and experienced several baptisms of war. . During the Anti-Japanese War, he participated in the war against Japan and was repeatedly bombed by the Japanese army, and was eventually destroyed by the Japanese army.
