Scenic spot introduction:

The Shengshou Pagoda is located on the Nanshan Mountain in the suburbs of Changle City, Fuzhou. It was built in the third year of Shaosheng in the Song Dynasty (AD 1096) and was completed on October 23rd in the seventh year of Zhenghe (AD 1117). It is said that this pagoda was built in the name of Zhao Ji, Emperor Huizong of the Song Dynasty, to celebrate his birthday, so it was originally named "Shengshou Pagoda". In the early Ming Dynasty, Zheng He made seven voyages to the Western Ocean. Each time, the fleet was stationed at Taiping Port in Changle to wait for the monsoon. This tower was not only a watchtower for Zheng He to overlook Taiping Port, but also a navigation tower for the fleet to enter and leave Taiping Port. At that time, Zheng He was very displeased when he learned that this pagoda was built to celebrate the birthday of Emperor Huizong of the Song Dynasty. He changed the name of the pagoda to "Three Peaks Pagoda" on the grounds that Nanshan has three peaks: Yinping, Xiangjie and Shilin. During the Hongzhi period of the Ming Dynasty, Pan Mansion of Changle County renamed the pagoda "Yan Pagoda", and the people also called the pagoda Nanshan Pagoda.
