Ruiyan Mountain Scenic Area is located in the north of Haikou Town, Fuqing City, about 10 kilometers away from the county seat. It was called "Ruiyan Dan Cave" in ancient times and has thirty-six caves and seventy-two landscapes. Ruiyan Scenic Area is divided into two parts: Qianyan and Houyan. Qianyan was developed in the Song Dynasty, and its main landscapes include the Maitreya Buddha statue and Ruiyan Temple. Houyan was developed by Qi Jiguang, a famous anti-Japanese general in the Ming Dynasty. The main landscape is cliff carvings.
