Taipei 101 is considered a landmark building in Taipei, one of the eight major scenic spots in Taiwan, and one of the tallest buildings in the world. It has the world's fastest elevator and the world's largest and heaviest wind damper. 101 holds many world records of the China World Records Association. It was the world's tallest building before 2010, and was then surpassed by the Burj Khalifa, which was built to 141 floors at the time, on July 21, 2007.
Taipei 101 is located in Xinyi District, Taipei. It was designed by architect Li Zuyuan and is 508 meters high. It was originally named Taipei International Financial Center in the early planning stage.
