Scenic spot introduction:

Bern is the capital of Switzerland and the capital of the canton of Bern. The ancient city is located in the central mountains of the western Swiss plateau. It was first built in the late 12th century and reached its current size in the 18th century. It has a history of more than 800 years. Since the federal government was established here in 1848, Bern has been the political and cultural center of Switzerland.

Attractions distribution:

Bern is located at a natural bend of the Aare River, a tributary of the Rhine. The Aare River divides the city into two halves, with the old city on the west bank and the new city on the east bank, connected by seven wide bridges. The old city of Bern, surrounded by water on three sides, was first built as a military fortress in 1191. The city originally had mostly wooden structures, but several fires in the Middle Ages burned down all the wooden buildings. Later, they were replaced with stone structures and remain intact to this day. The old city is full of bright streets paved with cobblestones, arcades connected to each other on both sides of the street, old houses with red tiles and white walls, colorful column fountains in the center of the street with their own allusions, a 16th-century bell tower, and a Gothic cathedral built in 1421. The entire old city looks quaint and full of medieval mystery, and has been listed as a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.
