Chaohu General Zhang Zhi’s Former Residence Travel Guide

The former residence of General Zhang Zhizhong in Chaohu is where Zhang Zhizhong, known as the "General of Peace", lived when he was a child. As a general with considerable status in China's modern history, although he is a member of the National Army, he has always kept his promise not to fire a single shot at the Communist Party. Even Mao Zedong praised him as "specializing in doing good things and doing many good things" and "a true People who want peace.” Zhang Zhizhong advocated cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party throughout his life and spared no effort to fight for domestic peace. He was a true patriot.

Zhang Zhizhong's former residence is located in Hongjiatuan Village, Huanglu Town, Chaohu City. It consists of two parts: the former residence and Gui Weng Hall. The former residence is backed by a mountain and faces water. It has three rooms, four rooms and 15 side rooms including a patio, living room, bedroom, etc. It displays the daily necessities of General Zhang Zhizhong and has a memorial hall. In memory of his father, the Gui Weng Hall has trees planted by Zhang Zhizhong himself. The general's portrait, special exhibitions of Mr. Zhang Zhizhong and Huanglu Normal University, etc.
