Sanwei Mountain is known as the "first holy place in Dunhuang". It has the appearance of a Buddhist holy land and a Taoist heavenly palace. It is listed as the first of the eight scenic spots in Dunhuang, "Weifeng Yidong", in the local chronicles. It has been an important religious site in Dunhuang since ancient times.Attractions distribution:
Sanwei Mountain was also called Beiyu Mountain and Shenyu Mountain in ancient times. From the perspective of Dunhuang Oasis, it has three peaks that seem to be about to fall, hence the name Sanwei. Sanwei Mountain is a sacred mountain that has nurtured the Mogao Grottoes, a world treasure of cultural art. Local people regard it as a sacred mountain and have built many temples, coffins, Queen Mother Palace , Guanyin Well , Laojuntang , Nantianmen A number of ancient buildings still exist today. The Dunhuang Sun Tourism Group and Rongxing Construction Company built the tourist attraction "Sanwei Shengjing", and built the second highest in China, which is 36.6 meters high. How to get there:
Go southeast out of Dunhuang City, turn left on the track 3 kilometers away from Mogao Grottoes, and another 2.5 kilometers to the foot of Sanwei Mountain. Cross a 350-meter-long steep curve that was blasted out in the mountain, and go 3 kilometers over the mountain to reach the "Sanwei Holy Land."
