Nanjing Meihua Mountain is one of the four major plum blossom areas in China. The area for plum blossom viewing in the scenic area reaches more than 1,500 acres. Among the 300 species of plum blossoms discovered and cultivated in the world, there are more than 200 species and more than 30,000 plants here, and some of them are the best. It is an important cultural space for the Nanjing Plum Blossom Festival.

Attractions distribution:

Plum Blossom Hill is located on the south side of the Yuhe Bridge of the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum outside Zhongshan Gate. In 252 AD, Sun Quan, the Emperor of Wu, died at the age of 71 and was buried on this hill at the southern foot of Zhongshan Mountain. The mausoleum was historically known as "Jiangling" and this place was named "Sunling Hill". Later, because there were many plum blossoms on the hill, it was renamed Plum Blossom Hill. It is the location of "Meiling Hidden Fragrance" among the forty scenic spots of New Jinling in Nanjing.
Plum blossom is the city flower of Nanjing. Visiting and appreciating plum blossom has been a folk custom in Nanjing since ancient times, and it has been popular since the Six Dynasties. After 1958, the Nanjing government opened up more than 100 mu of barren hills here and planted a large number of precious plum tree varieties such as Xingxinhong, Gulihong, Zhaoshui, Gongfen, Tiaozhi, Qianyehong, Changzhi, Yanzhi, Yudie, and Songchun. Among them, the "Biejiao Wanshui" is the only one in the country and is particularly precious. Plum Garden There are several small ponds scattered among the plum trees, forming a unique and beautiful waterscape.
Today, Nanjing Meihua Mountain covers an area of 420 acres, with more than 200 varieties of plum blossoms and 13,000 plum trees. With its unique natural and cultural advantages, it attracts more and more tourists from home and abroad, and has gradually become the national plum culture center.

Meihua Mountain in Nanjing is located in the south of Zhongshan Mountain outside Zhongshan Gate. You can visit the scenic spots on the mountain along the route of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall → Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum → Underwater World → Meihua Mountain → Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum → Zhongshan Botanical Garden.

Plum blossoms usually bloom before leaves in late winter and early spring. The best time to view plum blossoms is from late February to early March, when the "International Plum Blossom Festival" is held every year.
