Beijing Liulichang Travel Guide

Scenic spot introduction:
Liulichang Cultural Street was the "place of elegant travel in Kyoto" in ancient times. It is located outside Hepingmen in Beijing. Its history can be traced back to the Liao Dynasty. At that time, it was still a suburb and was called "Haiwang Village". In the Yuan Dynasty, official kilns were opened here to bake glazed tiles. When the inner city was being built in the Ming Dynasty, the scale of the official kiln was expanded due to the construction of palaces, and Liulichang became one of the five major factories of the Ministry of Industry of the imperial court at that time. After the outer city was built in the 32nd year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty, this area became an urban area. Liulichang was no longer suitable for burning kilns in the city, and it was moved to Liuliqu Village in Mentougou District. However, the name "Liulichang" was retained. It has been passed down to this day. In the Qing Dynasty, most of the candidates who came to Beijing to take the imperial examinations lived in this area. Therefore, there were many shops selling books, pens, inks, paper and inkstones here, creating a strong cultural atmosphere. Liulichang is bounded by Xinhua Street and divided into east and west streets. It has become one of the important cultural exchange centers renowned at home and abroad for its sales of antiques, calligraphy and paintings, ancient books, handicrafts, the Four Treasures of the Study and other cultural products.Attractions distribution:
