Scenic spot introduction:

The South Subtropical Botanical Garden is an important comprehensive scientific research base for South Subtropical crops in my country under the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences, integrating scientific research, popular science tourism and development. The botanical garden is located on the shore of Huguangyan in Zhanjiang City. The garden is shaded by green trees all year round, the air is fresh, and exotic flowers and plants compete for beauty. It is an important popular science education base for Zhanjiang City and even Guangdong Province, and one of the eight scenic spots in Zhanjiang.

Zhanjiang Nanya Tropical Botanical Garden collects and cultivates more than 1,000 varieties of tropical plants, including miracle fruit that can turn sour food into sweet, egg fruit with the fragrance of all fruits, macadamia nuts, the "king of dried fruits in the world", mangosteen, the "queen of tropical fruits", and tropical fruit treasures such as hairy-leaved jujube, soursop, and pearl wax apple with peculiar taste; there are world-famous precious trees such as red sandalwood, oil nan, and Indonesian osmanthus, and more than 80 kinds of precious palm plants such as pepper, coffee, sandalwood, ylang-ylang, spice beverage plants such as ylang-ylang, and sugar palm, as well as 400 varieties of desert plants and tropical flowers of various shapes. While visiting the botanical garden, tourists can also pick fresh fruits in the orchard, taste coffee, juice and various plant-scented teas, buy botanical garden specialties, play with fish, go fishing, barbecue, and have a picnic.
