The Zhenjiang Museum was founded in 1958. The original site was one of the earliest British consulates built along the coast of China, with five East Indian-style buildings. The current building of the museum was completed in 1890, covering an area of ​​more than 70 acres. The museum collects more than 30,000 cultural relics from the Stone Age to the Ming and Qing Dynasties and 100,000 ancient books. The collection features Western Zhou bronzes, Six Dynasties celadon, Gold and silverware of the Tang, Song, Yuan and Ming dynasties.
