Scenic spot introduction:

Luoyang Shangqing Palace is a famous Taoist temple located on Cuiyun Peak of Mang Mountain in the north of Luoyang City. According to legend, it was the place where Taishang Laojun made elixirs. It was built in the Kaiyuan period of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty. It is a compact and quiet green brick temple. Shangqing Palace was built in the Tang Dynasty and was originally called Laojun Temple. In 666 AD (the first year of Qianfeng's reign), Laozi was posthumously named Emperor Xuanyuan, so it was also called the Temple of Emperor Xuanyuan. Later, to avoid the taboo of Xuanzong, it was renamed Yuanyuan Emperor Temple. Then change it to Shangqing Palace.
