Scenic spot introduction:

The Yuhe River is an important part of the water system of the Imperial City of Beijing. The excavated remains of the river bank and Dongbuya Bridge from the Ming and Qing Dynasties are the only ancient river sites in the central area of Beijing. They are evidence for studying the changes in the scale and flow direction of Beijing's historical water systems and have important historical value. The Yuhe River was the main river section connecting Haizi and Tonghui Rivers in the Yuan Dynasty. It was built by Guo Shoujing in the 30th year of the Yuan Dynasty (1293), and later became an underground river. In 2002, the "Beijing Historical and Cultural City Protection Plan" proposed the "protection of historical rivers and lakes systems" and clarified that the Yuhe River was an ancient canal. In 2005, the Yuhe Historical and Cultural Protection Project was officially approved as one of Beijing's six cultural protection pilot projects. . The resurfaced northern section of the Yuhe River has been renovated along the course of the ancient river. Starting from Wanning Bridge and ending at Dongbu Ya Bridge, it has a total length of 480 meters, an average width of 18 meters, and a water depth of about 1 meter. A waterside pavilion, a curved bridge, two boating planks and four platforms have also been rebuilt on the river embankment.
