It was built in 1954 and was originally named Xijiao Park. Shanghai Zoo is a national large zoo. Shanghai Zoo is one of the best ecological gardens in downtown Shanghai. Zoo ticket prices:
Ticket price: 40 yuan/person.
Preferential policies:
1. Children under 1.2 meters in height are free of charge;
2. Elderly persons over 70 years old can enjoy a 30% discount by presenting their preferential card;
3. Primary and secondary school students can enjoy a 20% discount by presenting their student ID cards;
4. Retired cadres, active military personnel, disabled people and people over 80 years old can enter the park free of charge with their certificates.

November-February: 7:00–17:00;
March and October: 7:00–17:30;
April-September: 6:30–17:30.
