Scenic spot introduction:

Dongshan County is referred to as Lingdao. Because the main island is shaped like a butterfly, it is also called Butterfly Island. It is the second largest island in Fujian Province. It is located between Xiamen City and Shantou City, and is affiliated to Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province. It borders the Taiwan Strait to the east and Zhao'an Bay to the west; the southeast is the intersection of the famous southern Fujian fishing grounds and the eastern Guangdong fishing grounds; it runs to the Bachimen seawall to the north and is connected to Yunxiao Bordering the county, the geographical location is unique. The county consists of the main Dongshan Island and 44 small islands. The main island covers an area of 194 square kilometers and the land area is 247 square kilometers. The bay here is vast, the beach is gentle, the trees are shady, and there are many scenic spots. It has the characteristics of southern coastal scenery.

Dongshan Island is located at the southern tip of Fujian Province and consists of 43 small islands. The ancient city of Tongshan, located in the northeast of Dongshan Island, was built during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty. At that time, in order to defend against Japanese invaders, Zhou Dexing, the Marquis of Jiangxia, used stones to build the city of Guandi Temple in Dongshan and set up a water fortress to defend the coast. The ancient city has been baptized several times, and now it still retains its majesty and its towers are magnificent. Known as the "Tourist Island on the West Coast of the Strait", Dongshan Island has beautiful scenery, pleasant climate, abundant sunshine, white sails and soaring seagulls. It is an excellent tourist resort. Beach (1) To buy seafood or dried seafood, you can go to the People’s Market on Tuanjie Road, Tongling Town and the Central Market of Xipu Town.

(2) Handicrafts can be purchased at the handicraft shops in the Tongshan Ancient City Scenic Area. These shops also sell dried seafood.

(3) To buy fresh seafood, you can go to the market in the early morning or evening, when the seafood has just come out of the water and is very fresh; and dried seafood can be purchased after visiting.

(4) Dried seafood products mainly include dried squid, dried cuttlefish, dried shrimp, etc. The prices are roughly as follows: dried squid 20-65 yuan/jin (prices vary depending on size and thickness); dried cuttlefish 40-55 yuan/jin; dried shrimp 50 yuan/jin; dried shrimp with shells 20-30 yuan/jin.

How to get there:

There are direct buses to Dongshan Island from Xiamen, Fuzhou and Shantou. Among them, Xiamen Hubin South Road Bus Station has buses to Dongshan at 8:00 am and 1:00 pm every day.

There is a shuttle bus to Dongshan in the square in front of Zhangzhou East Railway Station, 40 yuan/person; or take bus No. 8 to Xincheng Bus Station and transfer to the shuttle bus to Dongshan (Bus No. 8 is 3 yuan/person, the bus to Dongshan The shuttle bus fare is 35 yuan/person).

In the center of Tongling Town, there is a minibus to Jinluan Bay for 2.5 yuan/person. After getting off the bus on the main road, walk to the Jinluan Bay Bathhouse, or you can take a motorcycle for a few yuan to the bathhouse.
