How to get there:

Lausanne does not have an airport, but has well-developed railways and roads, providing quick access to Switzerland and neighboring cities such as France, Germany, and Italy. It only takes half an hour to get to Geneva International Airport by train or car.

Train: Lausanne Central Railway Station (Pl. de la Gare Central) is located in the city center, at the junction of Ouchy and the old town. You can take bus No. 2 or subway to various parts of the city. There are 2 express trains from Geneva to Lausanne every hour, and the one-way journey takes 40 minutes. If you take the IC (Express Train), it only takes 30 minutes; it takes 1 hour and 15 minutes from Bern; it takes 3 hours and 40 minutes to take the TGV to Paris.

Water transport: You can also take a boat across Lake Geneva from Geneva to Lausanne, which takes 2 hours and 45 minutes one way. From May to September every year, there are many ferries from Lausanne to Vevey, Montreux, and Evian and Thonon-les-Bains in France.
