The former site of the New Fourth Army Headquarters in Huanghuatang was the location of the Central China Bureau of the CPC Central Committee from January 10, 1943 to September 19, 1945. It was here that the older generation of proletarian revolutionaries Liu Shaoqi, Chen Yi, Zhang Yunyi, Luo Binghui and others commanded the Central China battlefield belonging to the Seventh Army. A division, an independent brigade and an eastern Zhejiang guerrilla unit fought bloody battles with the Japanese and puppets, making great contributions to the liberation of the Chinese nation.
