Golestan Palace, also known as the Rose Palace, is the oldest historical site in Tehran. It was first built during the period of Tahmasp I of the Safavid dynasty and was the official residence of the royal family. The current palace was built in 1865. Located in the center of Tehran, the palace has a unique architectural style and can be called the essence of Iranian architecture. During the Pahlavi dynasty (1925-1979), the Golestan Palace was used for formal receptions, the most solemn ceremony of which was the coronation ceremony of Reza Khan and the Pahlavi father and son. Golestan Palace consists of 11 palaces, almost all of which were built during the Qajar dynasty. Each palace has a different purpose. The most distinctive ones are the Mirror Palace, Marble Palace, Diamond Palace, Ventilation Building, etc.

How to get there:

Take Metro Line 1 and get off at Panzdaeh Khordad Station. After exiting the station, walk east toward the Grand Bazaar. Turn left at the first T-intersection and walk straight ahead until you reach the end.

Tickets for foreigners are 150,000 rials, and tickets are sold separately for each pavilion inside the palace.
