Scenic spot introduction:

Gua Mountain in Jiaocheng integrates natural scenery and ancient temples with thousands of years of history. It is famous for its mountain-shaped Gua symbols, towering ancient cypresses, majestic temples and Huayan Taoist temple. Gua Mountain is named after the surrounding peaks that resemble hexagrams. It has been a natural Taoist temple since ancient times. Here there are eight towering peaks, many mountains and ancient cypresses. The ancient cypress is one of the wonders of Guashan Mountain. Its tree shape is strange, interesting and charming. Mi Fu, a calligrapher and painter of the Song Dynasty, ranked it among the three mountains and five mountains and praised it as "the first mountain". In the Qing Dynasty, someone once listed "the pines of Huangshan Mountain, the cypresses of Guashan Mountain, and the bamboos of Yunxi" as the wonders of Chinese trees. Founded in the first year of Zhenguan in the Tang Dynasty (627), Tianning Temple is the earliest and largest Buddhist temple among the many temples in Guashan. The palaces and pavilions in the temple are lined up one after another, forming a magnificent ancient building complex. Every year on New Year's Eve, people from around Jiaocheng would come here to listen to the midnight bell ringing in the temple. When the loud bells are accompanied by the sound of waves blowing through the pine forest, one after another in the mountains, people who came early will burn the first incense of the New Year, and while bidding farewell to the past year, I pray that the whole family will be happy and safe in the new year. Jiaocheng Guashan is located 3 kilometers north of Jiaocheng County, Luliang City, Shanxi Province.
