The Mengshan Giant Buddha in Jinyang is the second largest Buddha in the world. In terms of age, it is the world's earliest large-scale stone Buddha statue. It can be called "the largest Buddha in the world". It was first excavated in the second year of Tianbao (551), Emperor Gaoyang of the Northern Qi Dynasty, more than 1,400 years ago. It was excavated 162 years earlier than the Leshan Giant Buddha in Sichuan, so it has a long history. When the Mengshan Buddha was carved, "it was made with fire at night, and with soup as mud when it was cold." It took 25 years. The Buddha statue is 63 meters high, which is 10 meters higher than the Bamiyan Buddha in Afghanistan, which was previously said by the West to be "the world's largest Buddha." , it can be described as a grand scale. Mengshan Giant Buddha is located about 20 kilometers southwest of Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province, and is under the jurisdiction of Jinyuan District of Taiyuan City.
