Yaoba Ancient Town is a famous cultural town, film and television base and Buddhist holy place in Sichuan and Guizhou. The ancient town brings together the unique and rich history, culture and ancient customs of Sichuan and Guizhou provinces. It is one of the earliest six ancient villages and eight ancient towns in Hejiang County.

The ancient town has rich tourism resources, profound cultural heritage and exquisite ancient buildings. The main tourist attractions include ancient streets and ancient residential complexes, Jinshi Archway, Dongyue Temple, Kowloon Jubao Mountain, Longyan Well, Wang Chaowen’s former residence, Ling Zifeng’s former residence, Dahong Midian, Yaoba Historical and Cultural Exhibition Hall, etc. The intact style of the ancient town has also attracted many film and television productions to be filmed here, such as "Dahong Rice Store", "Mountain Breeze", "Luzhou Uprising" and so on.

How to get there:

Bus route: Take a minibus directly to Yaoba Ancient Town from Huilongwan Tuojiang Passenger Station in Luzhou City. Starting at 7:10 in the morning, there will be a bus every half hour to forty minutes. Ticket price is 15.50 yuan/person.

Self-driving route: Start from Luzhou and drive along G321, turn to XE04 via S308, and reach it after passing Xingyao Road.

Travel Tips

travelling guideline:

1. During festivals and holidays, free wedding performances will be held on the streets of the ancient town. The pick-up ceremony starts from the archway at the entrance of the venue and ends at the inner courtyard of Dahong Rice Store, which is one of the best channels for tourists to watch folk customs.

2. The mutton restaurant opposite Dahong Rice Store is a restaurant with good reviews in the town. Tourists should try to go there as early as possible to avoid being sold out.
