Central University of Finance and Economics is a key university under the national “211 Project” directly under the Ministry of Education and one of the first batch of pilot universities under the “National Advantageous Discipline Innovation Platform” project. The school is the first new financial institution of higher learning founded by the Central People's Government after the founding of the People's Republic of China. It has gone through development stages such as the Central Taxation School, the Central Institute of Finance, the Central Institute of Finance and Economics, and the Central Institute of Finance and Economics. In 1996, it was renamed the Central University of Finance and Economics. For a long time, it has trained more than 80,000 high-quality talents at all levels and types for the country's economic construction and social development, and is known as the "cradle of China's financial management experts."
